    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 6-4

Best Performance: Southeastern Louisiana 56, Abilene Christian 21 - For 5 straight weeks, the Lions have proven they can whip bad teams with regularity. Now, they finally have another chance to prove the good teams won't always whip them.

Worst Performance: Houston Baptist 10, Stephen F. Austin 27 - The Huskies can only manage 22 rushing yards against a team that was allowing 208 ypg on the ground coming in.

    Most Surprising Result: (none)

Missouri Valley

YSU 14-19 UNI
SDKST 62-30 MIZST

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 18-4

Best Performance: (#24) Illinois St. 37, (#4) South Dakota 21 - Football metaphor (cliche?) city: the Redbirds dramatically right the ship and prevent their season from falling off a cliff.

Worst Performance: Indiana St. 24, Southern Illinois 45 - The Sycs start 0-7 for the first time since 2009, the last of their perennial doormat seasons.

Most Surprising Result: (#24) Illinois St. 37, (#4) South Dakota 21 - Illinois State runs for 331 yards, more than in their previous 3 games combined.

OVC

JAXST 30-14 EIU
UTM 21-31 EKU
SEMO 31-38 AP

  • NConf Record: 0-0
    Overall: 10-17

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 6-7

Best Performance: (#3) Jacksonville St. 30, Eastern Illinois 14 - The Gamecocks shut out EIU over the final 38:00 to effectively put away the Ohio Valley race.

Worst Performance: Tennessee-Martin 21, Eastern Kentucky 31 - I don't think their coach is going to get fired, but UTM's season is looking very much like Holy Cross's at this point.

Most Surprising Result: Eastern Kentucky 31, Tennessee-Martin 21 - After totaling 363 rushing yards in their first 6 games, the Colonels run for 229 on the tough Skyhawk D.

    Overall: 13-19

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 3-18

Best Performance: San Diego 63, Jacksonville 10 - Anthony Lawrence throws as many touchdown passes (6) as incompletions (6) as the Toreros brutally beat the Dolphins to death in their own house.

Worst Performance: Davidson 22, Dayton 48 - The Wildcats allow 4 straight touchdowns in the third quarter to turn what was a close game into an ugly one.

Most Surprising Result: Campbell 23, Butler 37 - Campbell doesn't play San Diego, so the Camels probably threw away their chance at an auto-bid here.

Tomorrow: the rest of the playoff conferences.

Most Surprising Result: Sacred Heart 21, Robert Morris 14 - An odd finish: after missing a go-ahead field goal with 43 seconds left, the Pioneers win in regulation anyway thanks to a 46-yard interception-return touchdown by Khaamal Whitaker.

Worst Performance: Gardner-Webb 3, Kennesaw St. 17 - A huge penalty disparity kept Kennesaw down, but the Bulldog offense never really did anything to take advantage.

JMU’s win was even more lopsided than the score. Was 43-0 early 4th when JMU put the backups in. 1st 3+ Qtrs W&M was held to 122 yards of offense. Last 12+ min against JMU backs up got 176 yards and 2 TDs. W&M turned the ball over 6 times and was the 3rd straight week for JMU getting a defensive score. Was also the 3rd straight week JMU has faced multiple QBs. UD and VU each played 2, W&M played 3- in the 1st 3 quarters..

Last 3 games JMU starting defense has actually outscored the opposing offenses. Yielded only 18 points/2 TDs (10 points vs UD, 8 vs VU, 0 vs W&M) 12 turnovers/3 defensive TDs.

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 17-6

Best Performance: Princeton 52, Harvard 17 - Chad Kanoff completes 89% of his passes, largely thanks to the 13 catch, 246-yard effort of Jesper Horsted.

Worst Performance: Brown 7, Cornell 34 - They lost to Stetson, got humiliated by Princeton, and were dominated by Cornell. Can the Bears possibly get any worse?

Most Surprising Result: Princeton 52, Harvard 17 - This was Princeton's most lopsided win over Harvard in 50 years.

MEAC

SCSU 14-17 DSU
MORG 14-39 HOW
FAMU 27-31 HAMP
BCU 20-24 NCAT
NFOLK 28-21 NCCEN
SAV 27-52 CHSO

  • NConf Record: 0-1
    Overall: 10-21

    vs. FCS: 0-1
    Overall: 4-11

Best Performance: Norfolk St. 28, (#25) NC Central 21 - Discipline triumphed over yardage as the Spartans committed 9 fewer penalties and 4 fewer turnovers.

Worst Performance: South Carolina St. 14, Delaware St. 17 - The Bulldogs hit an unexpected low by going 0/3 on fourth down and thus ending DSU's long losing streak.

Most Surprising Result: Delaware St. 17, South Carolina St. 14 - The Hornets get just their 2nd. win in the last 3 years and just their 2nd. victory over SCSU in the last decade.

SWAC

ALCORN 14-41 GRAM
SU 35-17 JSU
  • NConf Record: 0-0
    Overall: 6-25

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 2-11

Best Performance: (#17) Grambling 41, Alcorn St. 14 - The Tigers force 7 turnovers and badly whip the Braves.

Worst Performance: Mississippi Valley St. - Virginia-Lynchburg has been a non-countable opponent for 3 years now. Why the hell are the Delta Devils wasting their—and everyone else's—time by playing them? :?

Most Surprising Result: (#17) Grambling 41, Alcorn St. 14 - Hopefully the (probable) SWAC Championship meeting between these two is more interesting.
