Big Sky Predictions 9-23

Enough of playing out of conference, it is now time to start the Big Sky conference season. Everyone plays except for Portland State, and everyone is currently 0-0. Forget about what has happened before, this is when the true season begins. I went 26-8 in the non-conference so I need a perfect Saturday. Here we go, hold on tight.
EWU at UM---Grizzlies breaking in a new quarterback and they have a couple FCS wins at home already. The Eagles finally broke through the win column last weekend and hope to continue the road wins...UM 35, EWU 28.
ISU at UNC---Shocking to say the least was the Bengals win over Nevada last week, giving the conference their only win over the FBS. Meanwhile, the Bears stayed close with Colorado...UNC 25. ISU 21.
MSU at UND---The Bobcats took a week off to prepare for the Hawks who somehow looked flat against South Dakota last week. The road should not bother the Bobcats in this game...MSU 24, UND 17.
NAU at CP---No advantage for either team here as both the Lumberjacks and the Mustangs took last week off. The Lumberjacks may have needed it more, but the Mustangs should hold them off...CP 35, NAU 24.
SUU at SAC---Getting away from the FBS and the Thunderbirds have looked really impressive so far. The Hornets have looked good as well, but only have a win over Incarnate Word to show for it...SUU 28, SAC 21.
UCD at WSU---The two winners from last week's non-conference conference games. The Aggies looked explosive against Portland State while the Wildcats held off Sacramento State. This should be good...WSU 28, UCD 17.

NAU 24-35 Cal Poly — When in doubt, go with the home team…
Davis 21-31 Weber — When in doubt, go with the home team…
EWU 30-31 Montana — When in doubt, go with the home team…
Idaho St. 30-35 NoCo — When in doubt, go with the home team…
Montana St. 21-23 NoDak — When in doubt, go with the home team…
Suutah 27-21 Sac State — When in doubt, go with the home team… unless it's Sac State

Well, this is a game that could go in conceivably any direction, so I just went with my team at home. I'm also not sold on EWU despite the Fordham blowout—that may be more about how bad Fordham is playing than about Eastern being really good. The Eags are also minus-7 in turnovers thus far, and they were oddly minus-4 against Fordham.
Also… I noticed Alpha picked Eastern to win 54-9, so there are kisses of death going in multiple directions here.

So many intriguing games to start off conference play. Every single one of these games can go either way.
Idaho State- 32
Northern Colorado- 34
I think the Bears have a few more offensive weapons which is good because I think ISU has the better defense.
Montana State- 28
North Dakota- 30
Now we will see what these teams are really made of.
UC Davis- 17
Weber State- 27
Weber has a better offense than Portland State and a decent enough defense. Altitude may also play a role.
Eastern Washington- 24
Montana- 28
Is Montana as good as North Dakota State? No. Are they as bad as Fordham? No.
Southern Utah-38
Sacramento State- 21
At this moment Southern Utah looks like a serious contender for a BSC title.
Northern Arizona- 24
Cal Poly- 30
Tie goes to the home team in this battle of the Big Sky's most disappointing.

If we lose this game, I'm pretty confident it won't be because we could only muster 20 points.

Could a single 2 loss team win the conference this year? Looks ver competitive.

2-loss teams sharing the title has happened several times in Big Sky history, but I believe 1998 is the only year where a 2-loss team won it outright.

3-3 this week, far from perfect. 29-11 overall. Ugh!

That is what you get for not being a homer.

Man, props to EWU. 24-6 at the half with the hail mary giving the momentum to Montana. Eagle coaches made the proper changes while Bobs Titt continued to be a poor play caller.

Weber's head-to-head win over Sac puts them at the top & Sac 6th.
Remaining ties are broken by Sagarins.
Streaks: left is conference, right is overall
