Montana's secondary played like shit and gave up way too many big plays to Valpo. Still won but the game was closer than the score suggested. 45-23 final.

Griz have some things to work on. Fortunately, they still have 2 glorified exhibition weeks to figure stuff out.
I'll give Valpo some credit, though. They didn't look like a team that had been a complete doormat for a decade-plus. Their QB also looked like a real playmaker. A couple of his deep balls were really sick dimes.

Agreed. They looked pretty good. I didn't mean to take anything away from them. But I feel like the secondary got burned a lot. And on the one TD in the north endzone #13 didn't even attempt to make a play on the ball even though he was in position to.

Nova just barely edged Lehigh, 38-35
Pitt needed OT to beat Youngstown
NoDak State roasted MVSU even worse than the Griz did last year
South Florida had surprising trouble with Stony Brook, winning by 14
EWU looked real suspect by only scoring 10 against defenseless Texas Tech
JMU leads ECU 7-0 at the half
NC A&T leads Gardner-Webb 33-0 at the half; GWebb was favored for some reason

Yeah, I think the zone needs a bit more work.
I hope Louie-McGee stays healthy. How many key plays did he make today?

JMU now leads ECU 21-7, start-4Q
Albany trails ODU 24-10, early-4Q
SEMO trails Kansas 14-7, late-2Q
Shootout in Lafayette: ULL leads SELU 35-28, mid-2Q
LA Tech leads NW State 24-10, late-2Q
SMU all over SFA
SJSU just scored to take a 7-6 lead over Cal Poly—the biggest surprise is that CP actually attempted field goals

Very impressive performance by JMU. I foresee a coach firing at East Carolina. Fair or not I don't think their football community is going to accept this. JMU is really dominating. The FBS fan base mentality isn't going to stand for it.

Actually, I see now that Valpo rotated 2 quarterbacks. Duncan had the two TD passes (& a much better efficiency rating), but Seewald had the two long balls that set up the early field goals.

Yeah, #9 and #14. They both played well. #14 looked like the bigger threat though. He had a good touch on the ball and was mobile.

I was at the game. USF does not at all resemble a top 25 team right now. It seems to me that there is a mismatch between the offensive personnel and the offensive philosophy of the new coaching staff. That being said, Stony Brook plays good, disciplined defense and looks like a team to be reckoned with.

ULL holds off SELU, 51-48. The Lions scored with less than a minute to go, went for two to try to win it, and instead gave up 2 points on a fumble return.
