Why put a I-AA team on your football schedule?

More FBS teams are scheduling FCS teams...which is OK by me...
But there are those who still look down as scheduling below their lofty status...

Its funny,
FBS fans are hating scheduling 2 FCS teams,
And Weber is scheduling 2 FBS teams again for the 2nd year in a row, (2008- Hawaii and Utah) ( this year- WYO and CSU.
And if Im not mistaken and I could be, Weber will do it 3 years in a row, 2010- WYO and USU
At least the games are winnable.

For me, FCS scheduling 2 or more FBS games isn't necessarily a body-bag issue, although it could easily be. If a Montana were to schedule, say, Tulsa and Buffalo, that would be two easy Griz wins. But given the "difference" in status, it would likely require two away games which wouldn't pay enough for the proposition to be "worth it" for Montana. For a school like Appy or a CAA school, however, where there are many more lower-tier FBS programs relatively close by, it would be more practical to get FBS brownie points without having to take on a huge B(C)$ school.

I agree, if an FCS is going to schedule 2 FBS games make them winnable.

I know it was just used as an example, but Buffalo was actually pretty good last year.

Without the immortal Angus McClure on staff, that will NOT be sustained.

I really, REALLY doubt that would be an easy win for us.

Yeah Tulsa had one of the highest rated offenses in the nation last year in all divisions.

That's because they didn't have the guts to play us.
Sorry, I wanted to try out some ol' NDSU lines since the Bison that are on this site are not holding true to the stereotype.

Yeah I saw what you were doing.
I really wish the Griz would play someone along the lines of a Minnesota or Northwestern. Hell I'd KILL to see them at the Horseshoe someday.

minny has moved back to cupcake feasting... lower-tier FCS team and then the MAC... for noncon.
"a bowl is better than nothing" appears to be their monicker... and after the NDSU embarrassment I think they will be more careful about their FCS options (likely Ind. St. or SEMO level at this point)

hang on... lemme get in to character *cracks knuckles*
[average trash talking bison fan] after we win every game on our schedule by 14 points, I figure our playoff run will be pretty easy. My nonrefundable tickets to Chatty arrived today... oh, and did I mention that we won 8 D-II national titles yet today? cuz we did that [/average]
[lakes] word on the street is that NCAA has decided to outright award us the MVFC title this year, given that every single one of our players was hand forged by Odin himself. It's not like they had a choice in the matter. Of course this does mean that despite playing in an 18,000 capacity dome that can't be expanded... we're moving to FBS because obviously this level can't provide real competition. [/lakes]
[mpls]

I run the NCAA... tracks suck, there will be a law requiring turf by 2011, (nonsensical raving). I AM THE SMARTEST PERSON ON THIS BOARD... EVEN TT AND SE THINK SO!! [/mpls]
[gil] ho hum... think I'll have a look in the fridge and go fight with the cap'n [/ol' gil]
how's that for ya? feel more like home?

That's the only thing that was missing from the first post and you went and TOTALLY REDEEMED YOURSELF! Pretty good imitations on the post too so I did get a good bit of the Bison flavor. I may have to go over to Bisonville if some more of the Bison faithful don't make it over here by football season.

I can't stand to only read Griz homerism.
