How does this compare to previous years? Footballgeography.com has a commonly cited study that says 1978-2013 I-AA won about 18% of the games versus I-A. I-AA in only winning less than 10% of those games now. What that study doesn’t mention in its summation is that a disproportionate # of those I-AA over I-A wins came from 78’-mid 80s when there were lots of teams moving up and down with the brand new classification.
Example over 90 of the counted I-AA over I-A wins came from over 30 schools that are now classified as FCS (or defunct), but were mostly classified as I-A for the 1978-1981 seasons. 78'-81' classified I-AA were winning 30-40% of the games over then classified I-A. Since the dust settled, since the 90s, I-A has won over 90%+ of the games over I-AA, and that has stayed fairly constant

I-A winning % over I-AA:
2005: 52-2, 96%
2008: 85-2, 97%
2010 (1st 4 weeks) 72-6, 92%

Congrats to Coach Broadway and the Aggies -- not sure what the status of the Celebration Bowl is this year but A&T is a legitimate playoff contender. They go to Tulsa this week in what should be their biggest test of the year (other than Central :D )

Tank rushed 24 times for 133 yds and 1 TD -- caught 9 passes for 125 yds.

Nicholls State came really, really close to having a shot to beat Georgia at the end. They had Georgia at 3rd and 7 from its own 10 yard line with about 2 minutes left. They make a stop on that play...which would not have been a surprise at all given the way their defense played in that game...and they have a shot to get the ball back in very good field position needing only a field goal to win.

But Georgia did make the first down on sideline pass and was then able to run out the clock.

I started watching that game in the second quarter and it just kept staying close. I kept waiting for Georgia to turn on the jets and pull away but it just never happened. We might very well be talking about the greatest upset ever if Georgia had not gotten a defensive touchdown on a scoop and score late in the third quarter because the Bulldog offense was really having problems.

That was just an incredible game to watch. You're sitting there watching friggin' Nicholls State just flat out play man up with the Georgia Bulldogs and hold its own physically. Who in their right mind would think that you'd be watching with 2 minutes left to see if Georgia could convert on 3rd and 7 from its own 10 yard line to avoid giving Nicholls State the ball back in good field position with a chance to win the game with a field goal? It was something else.
