This happens every year. The whole board is totally obscured by the day to day "countdown" threads.

Could we like at least delete each one of those after a couple of days so that the actual football part of the board isn't obscured by all that chaff?

Not a big fan of them myelf. But there are others who seem to get their jollies over them. So I can live with it.

I dislike it when someone comes along and catches up on their school for the last week or 10 days and bumps the shit all up so I just close em' to stop that.

If the mods here want to do that then I say do it but I ain't forcing it on anyone. I defer to them on the matter.

I do like the comedy of the new countdowns though.

To answer the thread question, no, we absolutely are not deleting the threads.

How about the 5,000 Trump threads clogging up the political board? Can we go through and purge those?

No one reads the political board anyways.

I'm not saying I not to do them at all. I'm just saying to maybe after 10 days or so delete each one. So like you can do a "61 days" thread but then 10 days later maybe delete that one to keep things cleaned up.

If you really feel the need to quench the thirst of cleaning things up and organizing them possibly go buy yourself a chalkboard and write "ursus told me not only "no" but "fuck no"" on that board and then take an eraser and wipe it away. Hope that helps.

Those countdown threads should be deleted by the day, best case scenario. On the other hand it's kind of like censorship.

If we got rid of the countdown threads (and this one), I think I counted that the first page would include threads that were last posted on more than 2 months ago. It's not like you are missing anything because of the abundance of countdown threads.

I suggest you all quit being nancy boys. It's the internet. Relax.
