It's a start, maybe.

The President might not refill the position.

Meh, I'm not holding my breath. UD had two AD's from 1951 to 2009 and now we've gone through two more in the next 6 years. We'll find another 3 year replacement who won't be given any promise of upgraded facilities. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I feel the same way.
Delaware has this private school secretive thing going on with the Board of Trustees, and until somebody goes public with support of football I cannot hold out much hope.
As for Ziady, GOOD RIDDANCE MOTHERFUCKER!

Well, nothing good was going to happen with Ziady still in place. He was the former President's lackey - he was the guy in charge of getting rid of Keeler (apparently the former President was the one behind running Keeler out of Newark - he didn't want the head coach to have control over his own coaching staff among other things he didn't like about football). Since the former President left, it was just a matter of time.
As for UD, others are right, it's really the BOT that calls the shots. There's apparently a new chairman there, though, and hopefully with the new President starting in July there could be some new blood. Problem is, though, that the program is never going to bring back the fans at the FCS level. UD could easily be good again on the field in FCS, but they won't come close to filling the stadium again. Ran off too many lifelong fans, and their families, with bad decisions that had nothing to do with the product on the field. If UD does get revitalized, it will be for the move up to FBS.

Now, could you get rid of that giant beak in your signature, Bill? That thing is disturbing in profile.

I guess the consensus is that he gets one more year, and barring a playoff appearance gets canned, no?

Yeah, no playoffs next year equals no Brock for the following year. The trouble is, though, that we could squeak into the playoffs and we could get Brock for a couple more years. I don't think anyone really thinks Brock is a great coach, and if we make the relatively low hurdle of just making it into the admittedly diluted playoff field as the barometer for keeping him or not, we're basically saying we just want to be a little better than mediocre as a program. I'm not sure how you rephrase that and slap it on billboards as your marketing message going forward and hope to not just stunt the exodus of fans that still continues today, but actually bring in new ones too.
