The Spiders have dominated their last 2 games after struggling in the previous 3. However, both of the games were against archrival William & Mary so you gotta wonder how much is truly due to improved play or if it's more the typical oddity of rivalry games. The big questions here: can Richmond contain Marshaun Coprich, and can they do so without leaving single coverage on Anthony Warrum? Ultimately, Richmond's D-Line is their weak point and that means they'll probably have to commit too much one way or the other.

Here's my assessment of the matchups & my pick for the game:

      • Quarterbacks -- Richmond

        Running Backs - Illinois St.

        Receivers/TEs - Richmond

        Offensive Line - (push)

        Defensive Line - Illinois St.

        Linebackers --- (push)

        Secondary ---- Richmond

        Kicking ------ (push)

        Punting ------ Illinois St.

        Return Teams - Illinois St.

        Kickoffs ------ Illinois St.

        • Richmond 20-35 Illinois St.

Hey dickhead, we don't need any more Midwest teams advancing.

Could Richmond actually end up the best team in the MVFC gauntlet? :suspicious:

6-2 CAA rolls over 7-1 MVFC. MVFC overrated or CAA underrated?

Given what happened with UNH & JMU, I'd say the former. :coffee:

Truthfully, though, it just seems Richmond turned on all the light bulbs at once a few weeks ago. Their run D has been superb the last 3 games after it was pretty lousy prior to that.

Wait...what happened to the MVFC dominating the bracket? :suspicious:

Richmond destroyed Ill. St.'s defense. 562 yards...and held the vaunted MVFC physical team to how many yards rushing (hint...78).

Cripes, what a farce of a team the Redbirds, at home, were.

And they came in averaging 247.

How the heck did ILSU go 7-1 in the MVFC? :?

Ok so now for the 5th straight year if anybody's going to keep North Dakota State out of the championship game they're going to have to do it in the Fargo Dome.

On the other hand, there is a chance that no MVFC team will reach the final. Not likely, I'll admit. But it would show that some parity is coming back to the sub-division.

Richmond fan here. The Spiders played really well against ISU r. IMHO that was a once in a lifetime performance that cannot be duplicated again.

Yeah...about those tough MVFC opponents that the CAA doesn't have to face in the playoffs. ;)
