Big Sky Champ, once again!

Sam Houston State is, once again, the Big Sky Champion.
How many years in a row is that?
SHSU completely shut down, and shut out, the high powered Big Fluffy regular season champ for the last 38 minutes of play. Say hello to Mr. PJ Hall.
SUU had three long runs, including the wildcat run for 61 yards. Take away those three runs, and SUU's rushing attack managed a whopping 26 yards on their other 23 runs.

That's pathetic.
That was a SHSU team that was down to their 4th and 5th string runners...and their 2nd string QB...and they simply continued to gash SUU for yardage and points.
Play that game again, and SHSU wins going away.

Which makes Montana, I guess, the MVFC champs?

I think we'd have to take out NDSU, UNI, and Ill St. Because, you know, we have to prove ourselves more.

And Colgate, CAA runner ups. Duquesne obviously belongs too.

Yeah, we have a pause in our greatness...it might be permanent if we continue with Brock and his ilk, but at this point, who cares? We have so much more to look forward to on fall afternoons here on the coast.
On your side, nothing much has changed...the Griz won't win anything of note outside of Grizzyworld. Those mean Grizzlies turn into cute little teddy bears once they leave the confines of home.
BTW, 49-48.
^^^^That never gets old.
On the other hand, it is nice to have EWU fading back into irrelevance again, isn't it?

No, when you have to go back to the past millennium for smack, it is VERRRRRRY old. By definition.

After one 6-5 season? We've got years of fading to do before we stoop down to your level, homie.

Meh, your lows aren't as low, but your highs aren't nearly as high. FDR said something about not striving for greatness...I'd look it up, but it is from the last millennium and might offend the Taylor Swift fans on here.

I'd love to join in the fun here, but I'll wait until Delaware doesn't have a shutout loss to Rhode Island, a shutout loss to Towson, and losses to Albany and Jacksonville in the current season, a loss to Sacred Heart in the season before that, no playoffs in the last five seasons, and only 2 playoff appearances in the past 11 years.
I am pulling for KC to win though. The man is money once he gets to the playoffs. What is he like 15-4 or something in FCS/I-AA playoffs?

This is what Delaware fans are reduced to? Living vicariously through the coach they happily fired, in order to smack talk the Big Sky like its 2008 or something?

One of my good running and hiking friends from back in college grew up in Delaware and moved to AZ to see something new.
When he was close to graduating I asked him if he was going to move back to Delaware and his response was something along the lines of, "Hell no, nobody is ever happy there."
I had a hard time seeing his point of view back then. Cluck U is helping me see the light.
PS - Good season for Southern Utah. They played a close game against a good team on the road. No reason to hang their heads. Rooting for PSU (I think they win) and UM (my heart says yes but my mind says no) here on out.

Yeah, most good programs fall on hard times occasionally, but smack talk from fans of said programs rings just a bit hollow.

Biden is a clown and a crook.

Oh, but he smiles, so it is OK.
So glad to see his son go bye-bye...they were planning a dynastic future for the family and a couple of the leading Dems in the state...incredible plan to skirt the term limit rules to keep themselves in power.
Eff them...and the idiots that pull the straight ticket levers to keep the kickbacks coming.
Oh, and most fan didn't want KC to go. We wanted a new OC...and that was coming...but some ignorant blowhards didn't like the fact that KC fought for UD to be relevant, so they gathered up a million dollar payout from some silly minded Wilmington clown, and replaced KC with the compliant Brock.
Yeah, great move.
UD screwed their fans over in so many ways that a whole host of loyal fans said FU. If the Administration ever gets their head back in order, the fans will return. If not, we will go to the beach.
In Delaware, we have options.

Lots of beach weekends for me the past two autumns, since I dropped season tix.
I can't say I'm a fan of people dying from brain cancer though.

Jeezis.
Decent troll thread though. I'd have given it a solid C+, but so many gullible flyover folks bit that it may be an A- by now.

I think that was their #3 and #4 running backs rather than #4 and #5 but it was still bad Given that I'd heard Southern Utah had a good defense it was bad even if it'd been their #1 and #2 runners. That's because Sam Houston State got 344 yards rushing against Southern Utah when they'd come into that game averaging 264 and it was the second worst rushing defense performance against Sam Houston State on the season as the only team to do worst was Northwestern State (384). And Northwestern State is ranked second to last in FCS in rushing defense.
Since I was pulling for Southern Utah that was really, really disappointing...to see them so helpless agains the run when Sam Houston State's top two backs were out of the game.
The quarterback thing wasn't as bad. I think they pulled the starter because he was ineffective and they have played the second guy this year when they've needed to. In this case I think he was just the more effective of the two quarterbacks on that day. Oh...and Southern Utah did score in the second half after the Sam Houston State turnover. So they didn't go the last 38 minutes without scoring. But it was still pretty bad and I think part of it is that they got relatively conservative.
And the extra points thing. 5 point edge for Sam Houston for three missed extra points and a blocked return for 2 points in a game that was decided by 3 points. That was really bad.
All that said they might have won anyway if the officials hadn't missed about as obvious an interence infraction as there is. That was unbelievable. I know the officials didn't do it on purpose but it is absolutely amazing that none of them saw that infraction when it was THAT obvious.

Yeah...meant to say 28 minutes. SUU scored with 12:58 left in the 3rd quarter...and then went silent. If you watch the game again...they really didn't go conservative. They simply had poor field position and SHSU's DL was killing SUU's OL.
As far as the RBs go...SHSU had Donovan Williams, 6'0", 212lbs, the team's 3rd leading rusher (at the time he left) and a guy with 7 TD this year, leave the team a few weeks back. That's why Bulmer and Frank have gotten more reps lately.
SUU could not tackle worth a lick. SHSU's RB just ran through and over the SUU defense.
Fun game though.
McNeese had better get ready for some fireworks. I don't think you'll see the same offensive game plan that SHSU had last time.

I do favor Sam Houston State for various reasons but understand that one thing that caused Sam Houston State problems is that McNeese State is very good up front on defense this year. Sam Houston State is accustomed to having its offensive line dominate the opposing defensive front and that didn't happen against McNeese. At the center of it is 335 pound defensive tackle Isaiah Golden. He is a guy who started as a freshman at Texas A&M at that position and there aren't any offensive linemen in the Southland that can handle him one on one. Plus they have a very difficult time handling him two on one. Add to that the the rest of the defensive line is pretty darned good this year by FCS standards.
It wasn't the game plan last time that caused Sam Houston State problems. It was the fact that their offensive line couldn't dominate like it was accustomed to dominating. Now, they held their own. It was not like they got completely dominated by McNeese's defensive front either. But they had their hands full. You didn't see many of the kinds of gaping holes you saw when Sam Houston State played Southern Utah this past weekend. When their running backs made yards they had to earn it. They were getting hit behind, at, or not far beyond the line of scrimmage just about every time they touched the football. They actually did a good job. I was impressed with their yards after contact. But they were getting contacted early most of the time.

My second comment on this statement is that when it comes to game plan issues I'm more worried about the game plan when McNeese is on offense. McNeese did very well on offense against Sam Houston State on offense last time; especially early in the game. It also was very successful in maintaining possession so as to keep Sam Houston State's offense off the field. I AM worried that Sam Houston State will have a better DEFENSIVE game plan so that McNeese's offense is not as effective this time.
