Villanova @ James Madison

Two teams with NC hopes at the beginning of the season try to seal bid into playoffs. For Villanova, they need help. JMU is likely in win or lose, but they have a chance at a seed.

Nova just needs to help themselves IMO. Win and they're in.

Nova defense and special teams need to help the Offense for a chance to win. JMU should score 24-35 points depending on turnovers. Cats have a hard time putting that many up.

What could have been if Robertson and Lee hadn't gotten hurt. Now those 2 5th year seniors, the 2014 Payton winner and would have won 2015 Payton winner, have been replaced by two 2nd yr QBs (JMU's true Soph Bryan Schor is 3 yrs removed from HS..)..VU rFr former backup Zach Bednarczyk has started 6 of 7 CAA games and Schor only 2 of 7 CAA games.

Schor passing in his 1st 2 starts:
vs W&M 17 for 27, 227 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT, against a pretty good W&M defense in his 1st start..
vs UD 18 for 32, 193 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT. Considering it was pretty damn windy and was up against a good UD defense to boot in only his 2nd start, I think the kid did pretty well..

Schor rushing vs W&M & UD was pretty similar. Combined those 2 games credited with 32 carries for 129 yds, but excluding the 5 sacks for -24, its 27 rushes for 153. He's no Vad Lee running the ball, but he is a decent runner..

Calling for low to mid 50s in Harrisonburg on Sat & not windy..

JMU still has the much better offense. Defensively VU clearly has the better defense.

38-29 final
Nova gives up a pick 6, a fumble recovery for 6 a kickoff return for 6 a recovered inside kick and four turnovers by the qb and somehow was still driving to win the game with 3 minutes left. That's when the fumble for 6 occurred.

Freshman QB. Needs to learn how to take care of the ball. Overall, an entertaining season and a gritty group that rallied well after losing John Robertson.

Go CA A in the playoffs. I am more optimistic than most.

To get a seed JMU needed to

-Take care of business bs VU- check

Have 2 of the below 6 get upset, then 3 of 5 after Citadel over SC. Well, got 3 of 5! Could get 4 pending PSU/EWU..

-Liberty over CCU- check
-UR over W&M- check
-S Dakota over ILSU- no
-WIU over SDSU- check
-EWU over PSU-still playing

Seeds could be:
1. JSU (10-1/8-0)
2. MCNeese (10-0/8-0)
3. ILSU (9-2/7-1)
4. NDSU (9-2/7-1)
5. PSU if beat EWU (9-2/6-2)
-CSU (9-2/6-0)
-Citadel (8-3/7-1)
-JMU (9-2/6-2)

The only way I see JMU not getting it is if they take UR (8-3/6-2) because they won head to head over JMu and the CAA AQ. But they lost. 2 of their last 3, and the only 8-3 I see possibly getting a seed is El Cid..
