What does everyone think about the Bears? I think we could make some noise if we get in to the playoffs.

UCA has been on a roll, winning 6 of 7. Win out, and you are in no question. Lose to Nicholls, it would be two bad losses (Samford the other). Beat Nicholls but lose to Sam puts you on the bubble, with no good wins, and losses to every good team you have faced.

I think UCA is very good. I think McNeese was lucky to beat them and the outcome was obviously because of turnovers. Don't get me wrong, I think both defenses played very well in that game and McNeese did do a little better running the ball but when I say "a little better" I do mean "little." UCA did a lot better throwing the football.

I kind of share the sentiment I heard the guys calling the telecast I saw of UCA at Oklahoma State. At one point one of them asked, "How did this team get beat like that by Samford?" That was in the context of a situation where Oklahoma State was having a really tough time moving the ball on them.

The final score of 32-8 at Oklahoma State looks KIND of bad but Oklahoma State only led 10-0 at hafltime and 17-8 more than halfway through the third quarter. In any case holding Oklahoma State to 32 ain't bad for a FCS team as Oklahoma State averages 44.6 points per game. Put it this way: It's a lot better offense than anything Central Arkansas is going to see in FCS. And I do think UCA's defense got worn down in the 4th quarter because the offense couldn't do much during the game (12 first downs, 220 total yards).

What the heck happened against Samford? Also, I have no desire to see McNeese have to play Central Arkansas again so I hope that doesn't happen. They held McNeese to 160 total yards.

I'm pulling for Central Arkansas to beat Sam Houston State in the last game of the season but I probably shouldn't be. I do think there's a good chance Sam Houston State's offense is going to get smothered. We'll see.

Geeze I gush over Central Arkansas' defense then they go out and give up 31 points to Nicholls State. Almost lost the game.

I gotta say, though, that Nicholls State should've been playing the quarterback that played against Central Arkansas all year. If that guy plays like that every time he plays that's going to be a star. I'm trying figure out why the guy that was starting had to get hurt in order for them to go to him. MAN he looked good.

Central Arkansas did hold Nicholls State to 10 yards rushing but that quarterback gave them all kinds of problems. That sucker was accurate and he could be accurate on the move and under pressure. But he's a senior so if Nicholls coaching staff did realize how good he is it's too late.

The Nicholls game was ugly, but if you look at prior years, we have never won big when we have to go TO Thibadeaux. They beat us a few years back to keep us from being undefeated in FCS play. I think the home field advantage will play a huge role against SHSU this weekend, and I think that UCA's run defense will squelch the rushing attack that the 'Kats bring. Should be good but I'm saying UCA - 38

Well I will be pulling for the Bears to beat the Bearkats. We'll see what happens.
