Remember, it was just 3 weeks ago when UD got blasted 20-0 by a winless Rhode Island team. It wasn't just the piss poor showing against Jacksonville at the start of the year that haunts UD.BDKJMU wrote:When were both teams good at the same time? I wouldn't say they both suck. I'd say BOTH RIGHT NOW are mediocre, top 40 to top 50 (out of 120) I-AA teams.
TU (4-3/2-2) lost @ Elon because they had all 6 RB's hurt by the 2nd? qtr and were down to a QB and FB in the backfield along with losing another OL. They would beat Elon 9 times out of 10. Played ECU tough and loss to JMU was somewhat respectable. I think you could say TU is mediocre. Heck if they beat UD then they could be 4th CAA playoff team make by winning 2 of 3 (@ Maine, @ W&M, URI)
UD would roll Jacksonville right now..After last Sat I would move UD out of the sucks category into the mediocre..
It was also UD's "rout" of mighty Lafayette.GannonFan wrote:Remember, it was just 3 weeks ago when UD got blasted 20-0 by a winless Rhode Island team. Yeah, the 1st game against a tops in the Pioneer quasi non-scholly Jacksonville can be explained away as a very young team breaking in a rFr QB. But the URI loss is a headscratcher for sure, esp consider it came between the W&M & UNH wins.GannonFan wrote:Remember, it was just 3 weeks ago when UD got blasted 20-0 by a winless Rhode Island team. It helps confuse the issue more when you realize the CAA is exceedingly weak this year outside of Richmond and JMU. W&M isn't an awful team, but they're not really a good one either. Tons of mediocrity this year and unless Richmond can get on a hot streak the CAA won't hang around long in the playoffs.BDKJMU wrote:Yeah, the 1st game against a tops in the Pioneer quasi non-scholly Jacksonville can be explained away as a very young team breaking in a rFr QB. I guess most conferences have a Jekyll & Hyde team- UD is the CAA's Jekyll & Hyde. Beat a team in the top 2-3, then lose to a team in the bottom 2-3. Real headscrachers for sure.
Or IF the new JMU QB exceeds non purple shaded expectations, as the the UR defense isn't any better than JMU's (both are currently 8 & 9 in CAA in Total defense) & JMU does get its best DL back from suspension. New QB will get his baptism against the #1 defense in the CAA this weekend, and then after a bye week back to back good defensed in UD (currently #4 CAA total de) then VU (currently #2). Will pretty much know by after the UD game whether or not the kid is good enough to take JMU anywhere.GannonFan wrote:It helps confuse the issue more when you realize the CAA is exceedingly weak this year outside of Richmond and JMU. Its as relevant now as the Big Sky, or any other conference outside the MVFC...AZGrizFan wrote:Remember when CAA football was relevant?

Delaware is a team with raw talent here and there, but piss poor coaching. Delaware will never be consistent with Dave Crock as head coach. He has a long resume full of no real accomplishments.BDKJMU wrote: I guess most conferences have a Jekyll & Hyde team- UD is the CAA's Jekyll & Hyde. I see. So the CAA lost relevance once Georgia State left.CAA Flagship wrote:Yeah. The last time was 2010.AZGrizFan wrote:Remember when CAA football was relevant?

Check again...that was 2011..but no CAA teams made the semis, so not relevant..

Hey, when you've had so many different teams make the semis and/or win the NC, it's hard to keep them all straight.AZGrizFan wrote:

You fucking serious, Clark? The Griz were the Yankees of the Big Sky for all those years.89Hen wrote:Grizalltheway wrote: Accuracy.Big Sky throwing anything the way of the CAA is comical. Ahem...more championships and almost as many semi appearances as your entire conference since then.89Hen wrote:Grizalltheway wrote: Accuracy.Big Sky throwing anything the way of the CAA is comical. Hey Buddy, go fuck yourself! Towson is one game off where I thought they'd be, 5-2. They played Elon in a monsoon and had two RBs go down in the early second quarter up 14-0, with only a FB to fill in the rest of the game.BDKJMU wrote:When were both teams good at the same time?
