What is the I-AA GOTW? Several first place showdowns this week and interestingly seems like top vs bottom in the MVFC this week, so really no games worthy there IMO.

It wouldn't be CS without blind homers. :thumb:

Eh, all of the top choices has roughly equal conference title implications, which should be the determining factor at this point of the season, IMO. :thumb:

Thanks, 89, for including the Ivy showdown! :)

I know how difficult that must have been for you. :coffee:

 I have nothing personal against the Ivy, but a battle between anything less than two undefeated teams with 5-6 wins is not worthy. Same would go for MEAC, Pioneer, Patriot, SWAC, etc...

Why are the non scholarship schools in FCS? They should have their own classification.

Sure there are. Division III is non scholarship, right?

Having said that, I think non scholarship programs should be able to compete in FCS or even FBS if they want to try to do that.

I went homer with JMU @ W&M, but I don't see how anyone could pick Montana @ PSU over
EKU/JSU:
-2 teams are a combined 11-0 vs I-AA with each team coming within a hair of knocking off a SEC team.
-Will decide OVC title.
-Seed implications for both teams.

CCU @ CSU:
-2 teams are a combined 12-0 vs I-AA.
-Will decide Big South title.
-Seed implications for both teams.

Yeah UM at PSU is not the game of the week. Ill take Dart-Harv, CCU-CSU, EKU-JSU, JMU-W&M over that one

Jon has had positive things to say about ALL conferences this season. His conclusion THIS week was made following honest evaluation of ALL of the top games.

D3 is non schollie, but non-schollie FCS schools are definitely not D3 - they have resources that real D3 schools don't have

Didn't realize it until I saw the thread on ESPN3 games this weekend but there's another big playoff implications game in the Southland this week. Southeastern Louisiana at Central Arkansas. Each team has three losses. If Southeastern loses they can do no better than 6 Division I wins and their best win would be the narrow escape from Lamar. Central Arkansas is still in the conference championship race with one loss, the team that beat them (McNeese) still yet to play Sam Houston State, and with a home game against Sam Houston State at the end of their schedule. It's a big game.

I'm going with the homer vote on this one. Huge game for Charleston Southern and Coastal Carolina. Big implications if Coastal loses. I never thought we belonged at #1, Top 5 yes, but not #1.
