Friday

Idaho St. 14-48 BoiseBoth teams coming off soul-crushing losses

Saturday

NoCo 20-27 SuutahThis is the only real conference game of the week, if anyone cares

Montana St. 48-49 EWUBobcats have an even worse record against the Eagles than they do against the Griz

Niowa 17-27 Cal PolyThe Panthers now have to deal with an opponent with some semblance of defense

Davis 7-42 Hawai'iThe Aggies taste the rainbow

Sac State 34-35 WeberNot only is this a battle of mediocrity, it also doesn't count

NAU 21-52 ArizonaArizona hasn't looked great thus far, but I doubt the 'Jacks will take advantage

Montana 31-34 Falwell St.A trip to a playoff-caliber opponent 2 time zones away is just a little too much

NoDak 13-31 NoDak St.I'm sure this game will be filled with bitter stupidity, but only the Bison have an offense

8-2 last week, puts me at 16-7 overall. My team is not playing this weekend so no homer picks this week (although the homer pick last week came through). I would like perfection this week, but there are some tough games to pick

Northern Iowa at CP---Northern Iowa plays my #1 team in the power rankings for the second straight week, first Eastern Washington and now the Mustangs. If they win again, maybe I'll make them #1---CP 35, Northern Iowa 28.

ISU at Boise State---The Bengals follow up their terrible showing at home last week with a trip up to FBS on the blue field. This could be a good game if Boise State wasn't so angry after last week's BYU game...Boise State 35, ISU 20.

UM at Liberty---The Grizzlies had an extra week to prepare for their cross country journey to the Big South with a game against Liberty. Did the extra week help rest them and regain their fast start...UM 34, Liberty 30.

MSU at EWU---The Bobcats took an extra week to prepare for this non-conference conference tilt which is also the Eagles home opener. Hard to imagine the Eagles on the verge of going 0-3 if they don't win this...EWU 48, MSU 42.

UND at North Dakota State---The battle for North Dakota, as North Dakota State will now have played three Big Sky teams. The unnamed team will need to play for four quarters to have a shot. What does the winner get, Lawrence Welk's baton?...North Dakota State 21, UND 7.

NAU at Arizona---Given the success the conference has shown playing against the Pac-12 one may think this could be a close game. But, except for EWU playing Oregon, none faced a formidable opponent. But the Lumberjacks won't go away quietly...Arizona 38, NAU 20.

UNC at SUU---This game between the Bears and Thunderbirds, one team is 2-0 and one team is 0-2, and no one could probably pick which is which. It would be surprising if after the game, someone is 3-0 and someone is 0-3...SUU 27, UNC 7.

SAC at WSU---The Wildcats have shown they have a strong defense capable of playing with anyone. The Hornets have shown an offense that is good at times and a defense that is questionable. Who gets it?...WSU 17, SAC 14.

UCD at Hawaii---Dreaming about a quick vacation to the islands is what the Aggies are thinking. Can they get an upset over Hawaii, who at least is looking better than last year. Or is this just a relaxing break in the schedule...Hawaii 35, UCD 7.

Looks like Venus has it right...EXCEPT the following:

Bigger margin for SUU
Bigger margin for EWU
Sac beats BBQ by a bunch
Smaller margin for NDSU...but still decisive
Bigger margin for Liberty...but still close...see that "other" thread

 Betting odds have Weber as a 2pt favorite. It will be close, and Weber will win.

JALMOND wrote: Northern Iowa at CP---CP 35, Northern Iowa 28 -- I think this is a distinct possibility. Although CP DID just lose their 5th year SR CB....bad timing there.

ISU at Boise State---Boise State 35, ISU 20--I don't think this game is going to be this close. I thing BSU by 28.

UM at Liberty---The Grizzlies had an extra week to prepare for their cross country journey to the Big South with a game against Liberty....UM 34, Liberty 30--Agreed. Having a week off couldn't have come at a better time.

MSU at EWU---EWU 48, MSU 42--two teams without a shred of defense. 109-108?

UND at North Dakota State---The battle for North Dakota, as North Dakota State will now have played three Big Sky teams. North Dakota State 21, UND 7--Pretty sure NDSU figured on a 3-0 start through the BSC.

Even with that loss, I think UNI's offensive output against CP will look a lot closer to the Iowa State game than the EWU one...

Good point, SD. A "standoff" usually draws a FG home advantage for the home team...anything less is usually taken to be a visitor's advantage....
