Don't follow the AAC. Know nothing about CT other than they are a bad G5. Looking up their results from last season I'm going to assume CT (2-10/1-7) is in about the same category as SMU (1-11/1-7). Actually SMU's only win was over CT by 7. CT beat SBU by only 3 early and UCF (who obliterated SMU).

-Excluding 1978-mid 80s, I-A historically wins over 90+% of these games.
-Think CT might actually have a chip on their shoulder hearing how VU is favored over them (last I saw CT was +3, pretty rare for a I-AA to be favored over a I-A, might only see that once or twice a season, don't know of any other cases for this season).
-Given that CT lost to TU's NC game team 2 seasons ago and struggled against SBU last season, and being the underdog, don't think there is any chance CT takes a CAA team lightly.

Toss up game.

3 wins vs I-A on the same weekend. That ain't happened in the CAA since at least the mid-late 00s glory days..
:? Huh?

You better check your reading glasses...they aren't working.

there are some winnable FBS games. Best of the CAA versus some bad FBS teams.

GD 6.93 dyslexia.. :wall:  So used to most people picking VU over CT (most on JMU board did) that when I saw he had TU & UNH winning I was thinking he picked 3 wins over I-A.,..

JMU set school record with 713 yards of total offense.
-Vad Lee 18-25 for 297, 3 TD, 1 INT. He had 4 passes that were flat out dropped..
-Lee and JMU's top 2 RB all rushed for over 100 yds.

Defense held Morehead to 252..Granted all this has to be taken with a grain of salt as it came against a non scholly Pioneeer program...

Got to throw a shout out to Michael Birdsong. Starts at QB at JMU as a true Soph in 2013. Gets beat out for the starting job Spring 2014 after Vad Lee transfers from Georgia Tech. Birdsong then transfers UP to Marshall, sits out a season, and wins the starting job. Went 23-36 for 234 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT in Marshall's 41-31 win over Purdue.

How rare is that- a player at I-AA gets beat out for the starting job, transfers UP, then wins a starting job. Have never heard of that happening before.

Out of curiosity, did Birdsong get beat out legitimately or did Birdsong "lose out" to the guy Withers brought in once he was hired? It's working well for both guys and teams but just wondering what you guys thought last year.
