I didn't have a dog in this fight. But DAMN what a way to start the season. This game had it all. What a showcase for what FCS ball offers. A shame anyone had to lose it because both teams play intense and just plain old awesome football.

It really was a great showcase. Great atmosphere better than most G5 schools

No, in Columbia Falls inhaling all the smoke. Leaving for Yellowstone in morning. Forest fires have run us out of Glacier. Would love to be in Missoula, but doubt I'd be able to celebrate 2yrs of sobriety on Tuesday if I was with the boys in the Zoo tonight....

Yes that was a great game. Unless I missed something in looking back that's the most points anybody has scored against North Dakota State since Eastern Washington beat the Bison 38-31 in 2010 to knock them out of the playoffs. As the season goes on it'll be interesting to see if it looks like it was because Montana is really good on offense or if North Dakota State has taken a step back on defense after four straight years of being really dominating on that side of the ball.

I think yesterday's game was a great argument for not moving to FBS. Those two teams being top 10 contenders added a lot to the intensity. App State vs GA Southern in a low level FBS game where neither is a top 10 contender isn't as spicy as it would be if they were both top 10 FCS teams looking to make a title run.
