I know less about the NE than I do about just about any other conference, but I went with Wagner. I think Jon just might have a pretty good argument for Sacred Heart, though....

What in the world has happened to them? They used to be at or near the top of the NEC.

Not sure - but huge decline

Not sure either. First, the program snuck up on a lot of teams after being an awful non-scholly program. We had some great offensive lines and very talented tailbacks that controlled some games. The previous coaching staff was certainly challenged offensively, and was often out coached in their final 3 seasons.
Last year was the first season for Coach Ross (former DII National COY) and he did upset a 60+ scholly CAA team in Towson coming off the National Finals. That that wound up being a bad CAA team, but still had a lot more weapons than CCSU. We didn't do much in winnable games the rest of the year
I expect CCSU to improve starting this season, as this new coach gets "his guys" and implements "his system." Certainly the coaching transition and weeding out some players will have a negative effect on our record.
Who know what happens this season - we could be 8-3 or 3-8 - but I expect to everyone to see our potential.
Truly believe we have the most upside in the NEC. A public school with 12,000+ enrollment, and the ability to recruit top-tier FCS talent. We've invested in some nice facilities, and expected to be the NEC attendance leader at a modest 4K per game. If we can win, we will get the media coverage in our area (Hartford) and can only go up from there.

Wow, we dragged ace out of his hole.

Good write-up, Ace - and CCSU should be dominating the NEC.
Good luck in the upcoming season, and don't be a stranger!
