Here's hoping we go the distance against UNC, unlike ODU.

UNH will beat SJSU. They're horrible. FBSINO by a LONG shot.

Stony Brook will beat Toledo. MACs are notorious for losing to Eastern FCS programs, and Stony Brook is good.

Albany will beat Buffalo for the same reason.

The potential wins are Villanova, Rhode Island, and Towson State.

The others are pretty much auto-losses. Richmond at Maryland will be particularly gruesome....

You mean how 9-4 Toledo beat UNH by 34 last year?
Buffalo will be favored by a 10+
Rhode Island is terrible. Towson - won't come within 14 of ECU.

Best shots are UNH and Villanova

Last 5 years MAC is 11-1 versus the CAA. The lone CAA win was in 2013 when Maine, who won the CAA, beat 1-11 UMass in UMass's 1st season in I-A.

2010 Temple 31, semifinalist VU 24
2010 Buffalo 31, URI 0
2011 Temple 42, VU 7
2011 Toledo 58, playoff UNH 22.
2012 Temple 41, playoff VU 10
2012 Kent St 41, Towson 21
2012 Bowling Green 48, URI 8
2013 CMU 24, UNH 21
2013 Akron 35, JMU 33
2013 Playoff Maine 24, 0-12 UMass 14
2013 Buffalo 26, SBU 23
2014 Toledo 54, semifinalist UNH 20

SBU in their 1st 2 seasons in the CAA have been 5-6 and 5-7. Toldeo is one of the top teams in the MAC. The last 5 seasons they have been 8-5, 9-4, 9-4, 7-5, 9-4. The last 2 times they played a CAA:
2011 Toledo 58, playoff UNH 22
2014 Toledo 54, semifinalist UNH 20

Go watch some womens' sports. Because when it comes to mens', you're an idiot. :dunce:

Ditto. Like I was said, of those 9 opening weekend CAA vs I-A, 2-3 'possible' wins, 0 definite.

Well, to add up all televised games, counting ESPN3 as National TV (I know, thats a stretch):

W&M 8 televised, 3 @ home. Nationally 3, 1 @ home (JMU)
JMU: 8 televised, 4 @ home. Nationally 1 on road.
VU: 7 televised, 3 @ home. Nationally 2, 1 @ home.
Maine: 5 televised, 2 @ home. Nationally 3 on road.
UNH: 5 televised, 2 @ home. Nationally 2, 1 @ home.
AU: 5 televised, 3 @ home. Nationally 1 on road.
SBU: 5 televised, 2 @ home. Nationally 1 on road.
UD: 4 televised, 2 @ home. Nationally 1 @ home.
TU: 4 televised , 2 @ home, Nationally 1 on road.
UR: 4 televised, 1 @ home, Nationally 2 on road.
Elon: 4 televised, 1 @ home, Nationally 1 on road.

Or removing the I-A games, which is 1 ESPN3 game for 9 teams, + 2 ESPN3 games for Maine, and just looking at the CAA TV package, and its:

W&M 7 televised, 3 @ home. Nationally 2, 1 @ home
JMU: 7 televised, 4 @ home. Nationally 1 on road
VU: 6 televised, 3 @ home. Nationally 1 @ home.
UNH: 5 televised, 2 @ home. Nationally 1 @ home.
AU: 4 televised, 3 @ home.
SBU: 4 televised, 2 @ home.
UD: 3 televised, 2 @ home. Nationally 1 @ home.
Maine: 3 televised, 2 @ home. Nationally 1 on road.
TU: 3 televised , 2 @ home
UR: 3 televised, 1 @ home, Nationally 1 on road.
Elon: 3 televised, 1 @ home,
URI: 2 televised, 0 @ home.

Haha. URI has been horrible for years and only had 1 win last year (which is about average for them) and Towson needs to prove to me they are going to be decent after only 4 wins all of last year. All of SBU's and Albany's wins last year were over teams with sub .500 records.

As said by someone else, Nova probably has the best shot against UConn and then UNH against SJSU.

Elon @ Wake or URI at Syracuse will probably be the worst while I wouldn't be surprised to see Richmond and Maine hang with UMD and BC for a half before losing by a bunch. W&M gets its FBS game on 9/19 against UVA which should be somewhat like the Richmond and Maine games.

JMU turns down 2 opportunities to host a NBCSports nationally televised games vs SBU and UR. Major fail by JMU AD.

Madison Gets 8 TV Games...
But Dukes Will Be On National TV Just Once

Posted: July 1, 2015
By MATT JONES

HARRISONBURG — For the second straight season, James Madison will not have a nationally televised home football game.

This year, that decision was made by JMU itself.

The Colonial Athletic Association announced Tuesday that four of the FCS league’s games will be broadcast on the NBC Sports Network cable channel this year, only one involving JMU, a game at William & Mary on Oct. 31.

James Madison athletic director Jeff Bourne said that the school was presented with two opportunities to play a home game on NBC Sports Network – against Stony Brook on Oct. 3 and Richmond on Oct. 24. But because those games fall on Family Weekend and Homecoming, respectively, the Dukes elected to play earlier games, meaning no national night games.

“We certainly talked about it,” Bourne said. “We looked at the possibility of exposure, which from a recruiting standpoint is certainly advantageous to it, but when you look at the impact that it has on the rest of campus and town and our vendors in the community, we have to look at more than just the athletic component of it.”..

.....In total, JMU will have eight of its 11 games televised in 2015, up from seven last year. JMU had six of its 11 games on TV in 2013, including three on NBCSN.

NBCSN games are the most attractive to schools because they offer a national, coast-to-coast audience on cable channel, while the other outlets are regional. The CAA is in the fourth year of a five-year deal with NBCSN to broadcast football and men’s basketball games.

The national network is available in about 81 million homes. CAA rival William & Mary will play on national TV twice. JMU, Delaware, Maine, Richmond, Villanova and New Hampshire each have one NBCSN contest.

NBC Sports gets the first pick of CAA games. The Colonial’s other two cable partners – Comcast SportsNet and the American Sports Network – are regional networks that reach far fewer homes.

“We had some restrictions on some of our home competitions that have limited the TV windows that we’re able to take advantage of,” Bourne said. “We had at least one opportunity for a national game, but we have to be extremely careful of when we schedule our games on homecoming and parents weekend.”

The Dukes were 9-4 in the first season under coach Everett Withers. Madison – which made the FCS playoffs last year and is in all the Top 25 preseason FCS ratings – returns many key players, including star quarterback Vad Lee.....

....Although JMU has fewer nationally televised games than in the past, its overall number of games on TV is increasing, something that encourages Bourne....."

Lots of people are up in arms about on the JMU board, asking what wrong with playing an evening game on Parents' Weekend or HC? Heck, lots of teams have nighttime HC games. JMU will be playing a nighttime game HC game @ SMU....

Looking at the nationally televised NBCSports games:
10/3 William & Mary at Delaware .
10/31 James Madison at William & Mary
10/31 Maine at Villanova
11/7 Richmond at New Hampshire

The one that is just baffling is the Maine @ Villanova. Maine will likely be pre season mid pack. Will likely have horrible attendance (only 3 games VU draws for: Parent's Weekend, HC, & UD every other year. And their Maine game won't be any of those 3. How in the world they chose that game over the season ending shoe in pre season #1 pick VU @ the likely preseason #2-3 pick JMU, at the 4 year old, biggest stadium in the conference that has by far the best attendance, is baffling..
