Confirmed that Montana's home and home series with McNeese State has been cancelled

Agreed upon in 2009, the series would have sent Montana to Lake Charles next season with the Cowboys making a trip to Missoula in 2017

The original contract was a three-way agreement with Appalachian State. When ASU moved to the FBS it cancelled its side of the series

We got tired of losing to teams from Louisiana.

Obviously I'm sorry to hear that. I know both programs have struggled to maintain dominance in their conferences in recent years but over the long term Montana is the "bell cow" program of the Big Sky and McNeese State is the "bell cow" program of the Southland. And I think the all time series record is tied at 3-3. Shame to see a home and home between the two programs cancelled. And of course as a McNeese alum I know it'd have been a good thing for the school.

It would have been an interesting home and home and I don't really know why Appalachian State impaling itself on the FBS delusion matrix had to mean the series had to be canceled. But it is what it is.
