If he is trying to stay close to Athens like he was at Clemson, I'd love to see him at GA State in the CAA... otherwise, I'd assume he'd be looking into a SoCon team in the area... that is, if he is trying to drop down to FCS and not just trying to find a smaller BCS school.

Jon is a really good QB, I hear people around here talk about how good he was in high school... not to mention his Dad wasn't bad at QB either... just happened to be outshined by two HOF QBs in college and the pros (Jim Kelley and John Elway... I wouldn't necessarily criticize a man for playing second fiddle to those two).

He'll stay close to home...in fact...I'd be surprised if he hadn't already made his decision. Most likely, his scholly options at Clemson got pinched, and faced with footing the bill and never making the depth chart, or becoming a franchise QB as a local FCS...

...no brainer.

Good luck to him, wherever he ends up.

This kid would have no problem footing the bill... his dad pulls in around $4 million a year coaching a SEC football team. Clemson being close to home was definitely a reason he chose there, like you said, couldn't imagine him straying far from North Georgia/South Carolina
