After James Madison's mysterious switching of game dates, Liberty has replaced them with a home-and-home contract with Southern Illinois (@ SIU 2015, @ Lynchburg 2019).

Take THAT, JMU....

:D

So, Liberty replaces a playoff team (JMU) with a non playoff team (SIU) and that is a "SERIOUS" upgrade? :dunce:
You're an idiot...

That was an anomaly, dummy. SIU has been better than JMU for at least a decade, and will reassert that VERY soon. SIU is a MUCH better game than JMU....

You are aware that we all know the histories of these programs fairly well aren't you? Seriously man, just hop off the crazy train for a second. They are both quality opponents man but saying SIU is a serious upgrade over JMU is slack jawed idiocy/ Cut the shit.

Ah shit I was spreading that rumor many moons ago too...when there was like 10 of us here I posed that and I gotta tell ya if he is then he is the hardest working SOB any of us have ever run across cuz he has never broke character and was doing it to a very minimal audience in the early days and it damn sure didn't slow him down. :D

Man, I don't know what would be better. For it to be true or not be true. So much upside either way. It really is a passion to watch the crazy unfold daily.

This is dangerously close to smack. There is another forum for that. Neg reps coming your way.

Every once in awhile there's just a tiny hint of breaking character. It's so subtle, it could go either way…keeping the troll conspiracy alive.

Personally, I think SH and JSO are the two best trolls around here.

It wasn't an anomaly. SIU has been pretty damn bad.

Since Dale Lennon's third season (after Kills upperclassmen were gone) SIU is sub .500 against D1 opponents AND conference opponents.

D1 games since 2010
4-6
4-7
6-5
6-5
5-6

This is what seems so odd to me. I could see him making a fool hardy statement to people that don't know this shit and maybe getting by with it. Facebook, in person, maybe even on a team board where people are not as well versed as this crowd is on the matter. You make a dumb statement with zero basis like this and you are gonna get your teeth kicked in for trying to pose like you know.

D1B might be the only guy here that would have cruised by this thread and said to himself "Seems logical SH, good work". Hell he wouldn't have even cruised by this thread cuz it's on the FCS board. :D

AAMAF, if you take Kills years, as well as the 2 years his recruits were upperclassmen, out at SIU has just 1 10 win season in their history.

Kill has a win% of 63.2
Lennon is next at 58...but...his first two years are a direct result of Kill...19 wins. Once Kills experience was gone Lennon is 27-29....48.2%

Other coaches in the SIU history

Sam Patterson - 2-2
William Lodge - 2-2
William McAndrew (who had their previous stadium named after him) 82-80-20
Glenn Martin - 31-42-5
Will Walter - 3-14-1
William O'Brien - 6-20
Albert Kaawl - 20-15-2
Carmen Piccone - 28-20
Don Shroyer - 4-16
Ellis Rainsberger - 4-5-1
Dick Towers - 30-37-2
Doug Weaver - 3-18-1
Rey Dempsey - 54-37
Ray Dorr - 17-27
Rick Rhoades - 4-7
Shawn Watson - 11-22
Jan Quarless - 14-30
Jerry Kill - 55-32
Dale Lennon - 48-34

Taking Kill out (plus his 2 upper classmen years out and his first two years to get his guys in) SIU is 361-471-32 in their history...

That means SIU has a 44.5% win % with non-Jerry Kill kids.

I can look at JMU, but I'd have to imagine it's a hell of a lot better than what SIU has put up, especially the last decade.

Lennon is also likely to be fired after this year if he can't figure something out.

JMU was the reigning champ at the beginning of the decade we are talking about so that alone gives a bit of a bump.
