Sacred Heart @ Fordham

Last year's battle between these two teams was surprisingly close (37-27). If 10 was the point spread this time around, I would take the Rams to cover. Fordham's run defense is their biggest weakness, just like last season, but the Pioneers have been noticeably less efficient running the ball than they were a year ago (4.0 ypc versus 5.5 in 2013). With that and Fordham's tendency to destroy teams that aren't truly playoff caliber, it doesn't appear this contest should be anywhere near a nailbiter.

Here's my assessment of the matchups & my pick for the game:

      • Quarterbacks -- Fordham

        Running Backs - Fordham

        Receivers/TEs - Fordham

        Offensive Line - (push)

        Defensive Line - Sacred Heart

        Linebackers --- (push)

        Secondary ---- Sacred Heart

        Kicking ------ Fordham

        Punting ------ Fordham

        Return Teams - Fordham

        Kickoffs ------ Fordham

        • Sacred Heart 20-45 Fordham

I wish I could share your optimism, but Fordham suffered some significant injuries in the Army game. Biesteck is out, which is big, since he's the Rams' best run defender. On offense, Light suffered an ACL injury and is out for the rest of the season.

Army was a very physical opponent and Fordham got banged up pretty good in that game. Sacred Heart is coming off a bye week.

We need to control the ball more on offense, run the clock, keep the defense on the sidelines for long stretches, and score a lot in the first half. If this is a close game at the half, that could be bad news for us.

Blowout City, 14-0 Rams, Sacred Heart still without a play that has gained a yard.

Sacred Heart now within a point 16-17. Looked very bad in the opening minutes but have come back.

Your kidding right SH I saw a score of 44-22 Fordham somewhere Denzel Washington is smiling.

Uh, dal...have a look at the post times. Apparently, this game started out looking like a blowout, but Sacred Heart was catching up at the point at which I started watching. When I got home from lunch, Fordham had reinstated the runaway conditions in the second half....

Yes I noticed that but as someone else said Fordham closed the door and never let Sacred Heart back in the game.
