Will they make a move to run with the big dogs down the road what FBS league would accept them they have completely dominated the FCS they might win three or four more national titles!!!!!!! Maybe the Mid-American conference will accept them????

its been talked about ad nauseum but there is really no place for ndsu to go in fbs as the big ten and big twelve are the closest conferences but it would be difficult for the bison to complete in all sports and the mac or wac are not in the midwest area with the sunbelt being stretched out all over the country the bison will probably stay put in fcs there is a chance the bison would move up if fbs playoffs change and the mvfc moves up as a group.

Gil, the MAC is in the Midwest. The Midwest is generally considered to be north of the Ohio River, west of Pennsylvania to the Dakotas, Nebraska & Kansas. NDSU happens to be on the western side while most of the MAC is on the eastern side.

NDSU fits into this footprint just as well as it does the MFVC.

Bowling Green
Ohio
Massachusetts
Akron
Miami (OH)
Buffalo
Kent State
Toledo
Western Michigan
Northern Illinois
Central Michigan
Ball State
Eastern Michigan

Only 3 schools are west of the furthest eastern MVFC school, and they are a good 9 hour drive to the nearest school. Doubt the MAC schools would approve, just like the Big Sky nixed the Bison. It's primarily an Ohio/Michigan conference.

Well it's probably as good as NDSU is gonna get for a while. And NDSU is essentially in Minnesota, so it's not THAT far.

BTW: It's at LEAST a 9 hour drive to EVERY BSC school from Missoula with the exception of MSU and EWU. Don't be a pussy, Gil. :kisswink:

Rather stay FCS than be in the MAC. If the FBS landscape changes and the MVFC moves up, then that's fine.

MVFC >MAC

I really don't see the MVFC moving up as a whole.

Though I could see the P5 using their "autonomy" to break away into essentually their own subdivision, and that eventually leading to a reorganization that blends the G5 with the upper levels of the FCS. Not sure what would happen to the rest of the FCS, if they would be a third subdivision or what.

It'd be a shame to see yet another top I-AA/FCS program move from having a tradition of excellence at the I-AA/FCS level whereby there's a whole lot of pride associated with the program, etc., to being one more wannabe in I-A/FBS where the odds of being a top program are extremely small. And aspiring to be in the MAC? Good GRIEF.

Awesome win. Bison looked human earlier in the season but in the last few weeks it looked like they might run away with this thing again.

Northern Iowa with two enormous wins in consecutive weeks. Congrats.
