Missed this in my local paper last week. They were both Villanova employees.
Cops: 2 busted for collecting bogus parking fees at Villanova football game
RADNOR - Two men are out of a job and facing criminal charges after police say they caught charging people to park at a recent Villanova University football game. The only problem was that there was no parking fee in the lot for the game.
The men have been identified as Denard James Taylor, 34, of Chestnut Street in Philadelphia, and Ismael Vazquez, 46, of G Street in Philadelphia. They are both being charged with theft by deception and conspiracy.
According to police, Taylor and Vazquez were taking money for parking during a Villanova football game against James Madison Sept. 20. A woman reported that she pulled her car into the West Main lot when she was approached by two men wearing Event Staff yellow jackets. The woman reported that when she pulled into the lot one of the men who was later identified as Taylor leaned into the car and handed her a card for non-tailgating parking. He then accepted $20 from the woman and gave her two $5 bills as change before telling her to enjoy the game.
After the woman drove into the lot she noticed Taylor and Vazquez were looking at one another and laughing as she next spotted them hand a ticket to the car behind her and take their money. The woman turned the card over to police.
Police said Vazquez admitted that they knew there was not a parking fee for the game and took the money anyway.
University officials say employment of the two men was terminated and they were told not to return to Villanova. They are both scheduled to appear in court in November.

It was a VILLANOVA game. They couldn't have made more than $60 bucks.

Almost makes you feel disappointed that the women busted them for such an elaborate (and hilarious) scheme.

That's nova for you. Had tailgate stuff stolen from the lot a few years back. I'm shocked the woman could even find a cop, they're almost non-existent at the football games.

So are the fans, so why have cops there to patrol (virtually) empty parking lots?

I kind of like how they had change to give her back. So while they are jackasses (hilarious), they are not complete jackasses and actually put some thought in to this.

Exactly. And they apparently had a good laugh about it. These were not hardened criminals by any means.

Yeah not hardened criminals but now they lost their jobs at Villanova and rightfully so even if it is pretty funny what happened. The school had no choice but to fire them as the two were stealing from people who were supporting the school.
That said, depending on how much money they got, I imagine they'll need to pay it all back, pay some sort of fine, do community service and be on probation for a few months. Can't imagine they made that much money so I imagine no jail time unless they have a bad previous record.

How much thought do you think is required to bring a few extra 5's, 10's, 20's? Who knows, maybe they lucked out with the first few customers who paid the exact price without any change required, and then they had all the change they needed for these broads

Not true. I was stunned. It was by far the most fans at a JMU @ VU FB game that I'd seen, and I've been to the last 7. Attendance was listed at 10781 in ther 12.5k capacity stadium, And I'd say for most of the 2nd & 3rd quarters there was about 9k butts in seats with another 500 or so milling about the far endzone where they have some concessions & seating. (Well, it was parent's weekend, which I don't think any of the previous games had been).
Home side was almost totally full by mid 1st quarter:

Visitor's side was also pretty full by mid 1st qtr:.

Additional charges of felonious breaking and entering were levied against the pair. They were breaking into cars and leaving JMU seasons tickets.

Drunken priests that run their vehicles over visitors, and employees that take money from visitors.
What a great place to see a game.
