Idaho St. 34-
56 EWU —
One way to end the colored field fad: Holt Arena doing it
Davis 17-
28 Portland St. —
The underachieving Viks can surely handle the punchless Aggies… right?
Suutah 23-
38 Cal Poly —
Despite James Cowser's 14.5 TFLs, the T-Birds are last in the league in run D
Montana St. 38-34 Sac State —
Sac's biggest weakness is probably pass defense—can Prukop take advantage?
NAU 35-20 NoCo —
It seems Chase Cartwright has finally become the guy in Flagstaff
Montana 24-6 NoDak —
Griz play a Dakota for the third time in four weeks

I'll accept Venus' picks...with the exception of the MSU-Sac game. I gotta be a myopian there. Sure, logic says they whoop us after that debacle with the Bungles, but I just gotta believe we're gonna come out p!$$ed. Whoever wins, I'm hoping that score Venus cites if close to what actually happens. I'm scared that if we DON'T come out p!$$ed, the Kitties are gonna lay into us with a two-by-four....

Those all look about right. I think the NAU/NoCo game is gonna be closer (if UNC get's their QB back) and I think UM scores more than 24....

By my count, NAU has played Northern Colorado 8 straight years. 2006 was a blowout. The other 7 years had final margins no greater than 20 points. NAU has the upper hand recently but UNC is due for a win in this series. UNC's defense did well against the Jacks the past two years and should have won the game in 2012. Given NAU's youth and injuries this season (7 offensive linemen were available last weekend....depth is an issue), it wouldn't shock me to see the Lumberjacks lose in Greeley this weekend.

Yep. NAU has been less than impressive so far.

ISU at EWU - EWU rolls.
cal davis at PSU - Toss up, I think PSU gets it going and wins at home.
SUU at CP - CP rolls at home.
MSU at Sac State - MSU with a comfortable win.
NAU at UNC - NAU wins a close one.
UM at UND - UM with a comfortable win.

Have some faith, man! MSU's D can't stop shit.
And an early season cats loss would do wonders for us in the conference title race.

And ours can!?! More losses for us means less chance we are stuck with Sears for more than this year.

Well...no. But that's why I forsee this one being similar to our game last year.

Eh...I just have no faith in our team to execute when it matters most. The Hornets are capable of winning the game, I just don't think it will happen.

Kind of a head-scratcher why that guy can continue to get head coaching gigs but Pflu can't catch on with someone. I mean he only took a team to the national semifinals in his 2nd year.

Well Sperbeck resigned late April, there wasn't much else to do but give Sears the interim gig at the time (promoted from DC). Now if he can't get 7 wins and a playoff berth (will be nearly impossible with a loss against MSU) with our weak ass schedule and the roster he inherited then he should not be let anywhere near a HC position ever again.

Right or wrong (probably wrong), I'm guessing that has more to do with the baggage from the way he left UM.

Which turned out to be much ado about nothing....

Lumberjacks offense looks more balanced this year than the last few years of a run-heavy approach with Bauman. Cartwright has earned a shot at the starting quarterback gig in my mind.
Defense has struggled...losing 9 starters does that. Lots of freshmen and sophomores getting minutes bodes well for the future but not right now.
I went to the game last weekend. Cal Poly is better than advertised, even with all of the player losses/suspensions they have had to deal with.

You mean aside from the fact he knew about the bail money fiasco & neglected to tell anybody?
http://espn.go.com/college-football/sto ... ster-perks
Now, I don't really know if that's
why Engstrom fired him (& O'Day), but I think they should have been fired for the NCAA stuff regardless.
Pflugrad's behavior—especially since being fired—makes me think he'd still be a good offensive coordinator, but should never be put in charge of a program. Potentially interested ADs may be seeing the same thing.

43-8 so far for the year. Looking for perfection.
ISU at EWU---Bengals looked surprisingly good against Sacramento State. Their reward is playing at Eastern Washington where surprisingly good will keep you close...EWU 45, ISU 35.
UM at UND---Grizzlies toyed with Northern Colorado and now head out to the No-Names who stayed fairly close at Montana State...UM 24, UND 10.
MSU at SAC---The Hornets came out flat against Idaho State while the Bobcats kept North Dakota at arms length. Bobcats come back to earth in this one...SAC 36, MSU 34.
NAU at UNC---Who will show up, the Lumberjacks who looked good last week against Cal Poly, or the one two weeks ago at South Dakota. Either way, the Bears shouldn't offer much...NAU 31, UNC 10.
SUU at CP---The Mustangs looked strong at home against Portland State, but could not get the win at Northern Arizona. The Thunderbirds quietly put away Weber State. Mustangs back home...CP 35, SUU 21.
UCD at PSU---The Aggies are looking to play a whole game this time, after playing Eastern Washington close for a half. The Vikings just want to start right this time...PSU 29, UCD 21.

You ALMOST got the MSU game right..You were just short 90 points and 1800000 yards of offence by both teams.

Well no surprise that our D didn't show up. Good news is the case to bring Sears back as HC gets weaker and weaker by the week.
