Well, since its getting the vote for the national game of the week on here. figured it deserved its own thread.
These 2 programs share A LOT of similarities.
KC Keeler: the HC at UD 11 seasons 02'-12' going 86-52, about a 62% winning percentage.
Mickey Matthews: the HC at JMU for 15 seasons from 99'-13', going 109-71, about a 61% winning percentage.
Keeler: 4 playoff appearances, 3 NC game appearances, won an NC.
Matthews: 5 playoff appearances, 2 semis, won an NC.
Keeler: After missing the playoffs 4 of his last 5 seasons and 4 straight years of declining (regular season) attendance was fired after the 2012 season.
Matthews: After missing the playoffs 4 of his last 5 seasons and 2 straight years of declining attendance was fired after the 2013 season.
UD has been mediocre their 1st season + under their new HC. JMU has been mediocre their 1st 4 games under their new HC...
Both teams were blown out by good P5 teams.
Both teams struggled to beat a Patriot by 3.
Both teams didn't look that dominant in wins over cupcakes (JMU over StFU by 16 and UD over DSU by 18).
Last week JMU had to play @ VU, who looks like the top team in the CAA right now, while UD got a bye..

For JMU the offense runs through Vad Lee. He is avg 16 carries per game for 85 ypg.
Passing he is 73 of 148 for 978 yds, 7 TDs, 5 INTs. So he's throwing it 37 times a game on avg, completing just under 50%, for an avg of 244 ypg.
The biggest issue facing the JMU offense is the revolving door at RB:
-So Khalid Abdullah, the starting tailback, who rushed for over 700 yds as a true Fr last season, went down during the 1st half against Lehigh and hasn't returned.
-true Fr John Miler started vs VU but went down during the 2nd qtr due to injury and didn't return.
-rSr Juan Latney, had 16 carries for 106 yds vs StFU, but he was injured during that game. He dressed for VU, but only saw special teams action.
-rFr Alden Hill, a transfer from Tenn, got the bulk of the carries vs VU, and has 24 for 108 on the season in 3 games (no carries vs Lehigh). He was hobbled during one series in the 4th vs VU. Another true FR came in for him, but Hill returned the next series. Hill probably would have been the #2 coming out of camp, but he missed most of it due to injury.
And the above doesn't even include the rFr who was pushing Abdullah for the starting job in the Spring but tore his achilles and is out for all of 2014. Think that's one of the reasons why Hill was brought in from Tenn. I have no idea who starts and who wil pay next Sat..

I am out of give-a-damns for UD football. Won't be watching, listening, or following on the internet. I'm really enjoying the late summer/fall Saturdays doing other things with my family.

Yep. There's NDSU and then there's all the rest of the FCS slop. So we finally made the shit show. Big deal.

Why is that? Over an FCS football team? Nah.

According to Wither's radio show they all return. Game notes 2 deep lists 3 of the 4, all except Miller. We'll see. While Lee is the leading rusher with 341 yds:
-Abdullah, #32, 5'10"/206. 29 carries 153 yds (vs MD and 1st half vs Lehigh). More of a slasher. Best back. If he hadn't sprained his ankle he'd have over 500 yds by now.
-Miller #28, 5'10"/180. 38 carries, 181 yds. More of a slasher.
-Latney #23, 5'11"/222. 23 carries, 167 yds. More of a pounder.
-Hill, 6'0"/225. 24 carries, 108 yds. More of a pounder.
JMU is avg 245 yds rushing per game. In their 3 I-AA games are avg 274.

Use to park in P-Lot ($500 donor level). Downgraded to the lower Convo ($150 donor level) for 3 reasons.
-2 years ago they took away stadium re entry. An advantage of being in a lot close to the stadium such as P-lot was you could head back out at halftime for beverages. No more.
-2 years ago they instituted a new asinine traffic pattern. Instead of being left out of P-lot, then a few hundred yards to a left on Port Republic then an immediate left onto I81 north (about .3 miles, 5-10 minutes in Gameday traffic), you now have to take a right out of P-Lot, then a right onto Carrier drive, crossing over I81, through the other side of campus, then left onto Univ Blvd, up U Blvd (off map) to East Market to I81, about 3 miles. After the 2011 opener when had close game and fireworks afterward and 25k people leaving at the same time took me 45 minutes to get to interstate. The other lots near the stadium its the same thing except for the parking deck. If I leave at the end of a close game with 20k plus crowd will take me a good 1/2 hr. I can get out faster by parking at the lower Convo even though the walk is 5-10 minutes more.
-Last year they went to assigned parking spots in P-lot which I don't like. About 1/3 of the spots IMHOP are desireable, as they are either sloped or have obstructions in front of them for setting up tents, etc (trees, light poles) and didn't know if we would be abe to get 3 good spots together.
P-lot does fill up as opposed to the lower Convo, and the tailgating scene is better, but lower Convo works for me and one of my tailgating compadres.

The reserved lots open 8 Am but general parking not till 4 hrs before game (noon).
-I know away fans have parked in the R8 before (next to R1), but its not that big a lot (think less than 50 spaces). Guess around a 15 min walk to stadium or could take shuttle.
-Another option would be C10-C12 general parking lots (past the D2. 15-20 min walk or can take the shuttle.
-If not planning on tailgating the Warsaw Street Parking Deck (upper left of map). Guess around a 15 min walk mostly downhill or could take shuttle.

I wouldn't park in the Upper Convo lot, now the main student tailgate lot, unless you want to tailgate with a bunch of drunk, obnoxious students. But if you do park there you can stop by my tailgate on the Lower Convo. By late morning Gray Nissan Titan with JMU and Dale Junior #88 flags. Also a black F-250.

You do realize you're the only JMU fan here that goes to games, right? I think you may be wasting your time and typing.

Nobody cares about your donor level or where you park.

Do they still throw streamers at JMU or have they realized the high level of gayness it exhibits? I always thought they'd travel further if you tied one end around a beer can.

We still do it because we know how much it pisses crotchety people off.
I used jack Daniels bottles but was told to stop because it was making the opposing cheerleaders cry.
