:tothehand: Some of those schools are always there. Coastal usually starts in the Top 20, Top 15. Give it til mid season and lets see where they stand.

Where did I mention CCU? Delaware is not a top 25 team. Sam Houston who just got gang raped by a D2 is the #26 team? How many times can a team like Tennessee State dupe the voters? A loss to Alabama State is an automatic get out of the polls. :ohno:

You didn't. I did. People always bitch about certain teams and I guess I ASSUMED you were referring to them.

IIRC, many didn't like them being ranked last year.

They beat my Grizzlies last year in cold AND loud Wa/Griz...I had them at #1 in my preseason poll for that very reason. :coffee:

How on earth is SHSU still receiving votes in any poll? FFS.

Offensively, pretty comparable, although I'd say our running game might be a little better than 2013. So, probably a little more balanced than last year but equally as explosive, if not more.

Defensively, we are worse than last year's group right now...lots of injuries on the defensive side of the ball which has forced us to lift redshirts on 5 true freshman just to rotate in on the defensive line alone. That's a lot! I don't know, I imagine there will be a little improvement there as the season progresses and those guys get more experience, but it's pretty rough right now. Of course, we have played some really good offensive teams so it's probably not as bad as the stats say. We'll see how things play out and if the defense can improve along with getting some more guys healthy, but I think we'll challenge for another BSC title and then after that it's anyone's guess, really.

How the heck is 1-2 Cow Poly getting votes, ANY VOTES AT ALL, yet 3-1 Sac State isn't?!? Look, I don't expect that the Hornets make it into the poll itself, not having just played an NAIA school, but surely at 3-1, our resume is better than CP's.

Your assumption isn't far off when you look deeper. Honestly, my complaint was for the crappy teams I mentioned, but for CCU, I do have a hard time with them being ranked #3. They did have a good win @ Montana last year, but it's hard to say where they fell in the final 8 teams. Had they not drawn NDSU in the quarters, maybe they advance, maybe not. For me, a top 5 team is somebody who has proven themselves by making a semifinal and returning a lot of players. Or a team that has beaten some really good teams this season without losing games they shouldn't. Obviously CCU has the second part of the second qualifier, but all we really know now is that they are the best team in the MEAC.

Unfortunately, three or four years ago their slate of SCState, Elon and Furman probably looked pretty good, but now... meh. The good news is that they will have a chance to prove everyone wrong in December. :thumb:

EWU is giving 46 ppg.

In their opponents non EWU games they are averaging just 17 ppg...

So...

You do the math.

I think that means there's a 6.93% chance their defense gets them to the chipper.

Or Clenz gets 6.93% on his math score.
