- NConf Record: 5-4
Overall: 14-21
vs. FCS: 3-2
Overall: 7-5
Best Performance: (#17) Montana St. 43, Central Arkansas 33 - Dakota Prukop puts up 379 yards of total offense and 3 total touchdowns as the Bobcats build a big enough lead to override some odd fourth-quarter mistakes.
Worst Performance: North Dakota 0, Missouri St. 38 - 166 total yards and a 46.0 passing-efficiency rating suggest the No-Nicks have transitioned from being a team with no defense to being a team with no offense.
Most Surprising Result: Northern Colorado 28, Houston Baptist 20 - Last week, the Bears forced 4 interceptions in a near upset of a Mountain West squad. This week, the Bears forced 4 interceptions and somehow almost lost to an awful startup program.

- NConf Record: 5-6
Overall: 10-20
vs. FCS: 2-3
Overall: 7-7
Best Performance: Abilene Christian 38, (FBS) Troy 35 - The Wildcats score 24 straight points in the second half to finally finish off an FBS opponent.
Worst Performance: Nicholls St. 10, (DII) Henderson St. 27 - A bad, if not unexpected, loss for the Colonels. Probably not as bad as losing your coach the next day, though…
Most Surprising Result: (#15) Sam Houston St. 21, (DII) CSU-Pueblo 47 - In their first 2 games against FCS competition, the Bearkats averaged 613.5 yards per game. Against the second-ranked DII, however, they could only put up 226.

- NConf Record: 8-2
Overall: 19-9
vs. FCS: 7-1
Overall: 15-1
Best Performance: Indiana St. 27, (FBS) Ball St. 20 - Mike Perish throws for 317 yards and 3 TDs as the Sycamores upset a team picked to be in the upper half of the MAC.
Worst Performance: South Dakota 20, (#4) Montana 28 - Not a bad loss, obviously, but it is the MVFC's only FCS defeat thus far. The Coyotes did a good job to keep the Griz within striking distance, but the outcome was never really in doubt.
Most Surprising Result: Indiana St. 27, (FBS) Ball St. 20 - This was an Indiana State team that lost its last 6 games of last season by an average of 31 points.

- NConf Record: 3-3
Overall: 10-13
vs. FCS: 2-3
Overall: 4-7
Best Performance: (#22) Tennessee St. 35, Jackson St. 7 - The TSU defense starts living up to their potential by holding JSU to 138 yards and recording 11 tackles-for-loss.
Worst Performance: Austin Peay 6, (#14) Tennessee-Chattanooga 42 - In 2 games, the Governors have been outscored 105-6 and are averaging just 163 yards of total offense.
Most Surprising Result: (#25) Eastern Illinois 15, Illinois St. 34 - We all knew the Panthers would have some issues replacing Jimmy Garoppolo, but 7 interceptions in 3 games seems to qualify as more than just "issues."

- NConf Record: 0-8
Overall: 6-20
vs. FCS: 0-8
Overall: 1-13
Best Performance: Jacksonville 35, San Diego 18 - The Dolphins run for 297 yards in what some saw as the effective Pioneer-League championship game.
Worst Performance: The Whole Conference - 0-8 against FCS (non-conference) competition? And the closest loss was 20 points!? I know being a non-scholarship league has its disadvantages, but the PFL still shouldn't be this bad.
Most Surprising Result: (none)
Tomorrow: the rest of the playoff conferences.
