Gameday's headed to Fargo again. IMHO it's a week early as it would have been great had they made it for the NDSU/Montana game. Still great coverage but they couldn't have picked a worse game to showcase NDSU. Incarnate word ick!!

I don't think they care about the game, just the great fan following that the Bison have. Leads to a great Game Day show. Thinking of trying to get tickets to the game and heading north.

Will they be interviewing lakes and JBB this time?

So, they could have waited one more week and had #1 vs #2, and instead they take Incarnate fucking WORD??? Those idiots at ESPN never cease to amaze me...

Good luck with the ticket find!

They are coming for the atmosphere and the great fan support.

Pretty awesome last year when at 5 am there were thousands already waiting at the site. You could here the festivities blocks away walking up to it.

It will be interesting to see if they go downtown again or have it in the tailgate lots. A tailgate show would be awesome and off the charts. There would be 15-20K in the tailgate for that.

Interesting. Next week would have been FAR better.

I wish Gameday would make this a yearly mandate- to have 1 Gameday per year at an FCS school.

I think Gameday kinda had Georgia vs South Carolina pegged as their sight for this weekend, expecting both to be ranked in the top 8 or so. BUt, USC laid a turd vs A&M so that fell out.

Agreed. Incarnate Word??:  WTF ESPN? GameDay is suppose to be about showcasing compelling matchups, not the most lopsided possible.

NDSU is #30 in the Sagarin. 0-2 Incarnate Word is #241, and has been blown out at home vs Sac State 49-13 and @ SFA 38-3.

It would be like ESPN doing a Gameday with Ga State at @ FSU.. :dunce:

Lots of schools have great fan followings. Every week you see Gameday broadcasting from the site of one of the most, if not the most, compelling matchup. You don't think Montana @ NDSU is more compelling than Incarnate Word @ NDSU?

Of course Montana vs NDSU is more compelling and other schools have great fan followings, thank you Captain Obvious. NDSU had one of the best Game Day shows without a great matchup last year, and I don't think ESPN cares that much about FCS matchups per the over-all picture for their viewers. Fargo treated ESPN great and ESPN is returning the favor again this year. A 26 game winning streak is what they are following, with a school that has a new coach, new AD and a cast of new players. There is a story there for them.

And that story would be toast after the UIW game?

So why not be there when it gets snapped? :coffee:

They love NDSU and Fargo so much that they don't want to show them lose and end that winning streak on live national television. :thumb:

What is the big FBS game next week that they are going to? NDSU vs Montana would be the obvious choice if they wanted to do NDSU. Is there a major SEC/Big12/Pac12 game or something going on? I know Clemson vs Florida State is the next week, but with Clemson's beatdown from UGA, that may not happen.

The biggest FBS matchup for next week is:

#6 Georgia @ #24 S.C. State

As for Sept 20 when Montana goes to Fargo, there is no big matchup between top 25 FBS teams at all on Saturday... Which goes to question WTF is ESPN Gameday going to Fargo next weekend for and not for the Montana game instead?

Here is ESPN's reason and it has nothing to do with the opponent.
Fitting said people have been asking him since the news came out why they decided to return to Fargo and his response has been simple: Why not?

The team is coming off its third straight national title and has won five games straight against upper-tier Football Bowl Subdivision schools, including Iowa State two weeks ago.

"We had an unbelievable scene there last year, maybe the all-time best GameDay scene," Fitting said. "If the scene's great and the team's relevant, then why not go back?"

Thousands of Bison fans dressed in green and yellow filled the streets last year and many spectators cheered from windows, patios and rooftops.

The Bison currently sit atop of both Football Championship Subdivision polls. The team downed Iowa State in its first game of the season, 34-14, for its 25th straight victory and its fifth straight win over an FBS school.

"Last year was one of our more memorable scenes in the history of the show and you couple that with the fact that they are clearly the most dominant team, most talked about team in FCS ... we're expecting the same type of scene again on Saturday," Fitting said. "We can't wait."

Pretty sure there will be a lot more Griz fans there than IW. But hey, this way you guys get all the attention to yourselves, like the special snowflakes you are. :thumb:

It's not the answer you want, and I'm not going to question a opportunity like this.

You are correct. Would've been much better doing it for Montana.

They're heading back. Wish they'd wait a week and make it an even better matchup. Herb and Musberger would have probably called that one.

Its not about the particular game. How much did they talk about NDSU/Delaware State game last year? They talked about the FBS 90% of the show. NDSU and FCS maybe got the other 10%.

And I probably would win the PowerBall lottery.
