Okay, they don't play until September 20th, but I cant wait, Im starting the smack talk thread NOW. Why? A Citadel guy on another thread said about CSU "They are lucky we (Citadel) even schedule them" and talked about how horrible it was that Citadel has to go to CSU for the first time to play.

Its so funny. Citadel fans have the most overinflated opinions of themselves and their football team of any program I know of. Some SEC fans have said about South Carolina Gamecock fans that they "Have a mouth like Alabama, and a trophy case like Vandy". Well, Citadel is the FCS version of that. Hearing them, you'd think they are some team with multiple National Championships like App or Montana. Heck, they cant even touch Coastal Carolina's trophy case and that program has only existed for 11 years!!!

Little ole CSU didn't do anything to Citadel to deserve such arrogant trash talk. CSU didn't have a team until 1991. The Bucs were dressing for games in old dorm rooms when Citadel won it's 1992 SoCon title.

But, CSU has beat Citadel about half the times they've played since 2006. Yet, Citadel fans talk about CSU like CSU is a rec league team. Must suck losing to them CSU lost to The Citadel in 2002, 2003, before CSU was a fully funded 1-AA/FCS team. CSU offered 34 scholarships, vs Citadel's 65. In 2004, CSU went full funded with 65. Since that time, big bad Citadel is 2-2 vs the sorry little Bucs from Ladson

Citadel has 3X the resources that CSU has. On paper, no reason CSU should even compete with Citadel, much less beat them. But CSU does.

Citadel fans talk trash about CSU having "a high school stadium". Yep. Its really small, only holds 4,000. Yet, Citadel has a 22,000 seat stadium.....which they are LUCKY if it is 50% full on gamedays. You guys are a 10,000-12,000 attendance team. Why have a stadium that is too big for what you bring? OVERCOMPENSATING for something?


Citadel fans will talk all sorts of trash about the Big South Conference. A conference which they would be LUCKY to finish 3rd in, behind Liberty and Coastal. Heck, may even finish 4th or 5th, since they cant beat CSU half the time, and may struggle with Gardner-Webb too since GWU has beaten several of the top SoCon teams recently


Maybe I don't see the glory and greatness of The Citadel. Im sure next week, Florida State will beat them, and they'll tell us how they SHOULD have beaten the Noles...if it wasn't for all those TD runs, TD passes, TD catches, fumble recoveries, interceptions, big blocks, sacks and kick returns. The Citadel fans will say they "let the Seminoles" have those, just gave them away, ya know? If not for giving the Noles all that...you know, Citadel would've won. Just take their word for it.

I'll probably get it thrown in my face if The Citadel beats us on September 20th. Its ok. They SHOULD beat us. They are a much more established program, has played a LOT longer, has FAR and away more alumni giving and far larger budget. Just like Coastal Carolina....all signs say Citadel SHOULD beat us. But the big difference? Coastal usually beats us...but when we do pull a win now and then, most CCU fans just say "Damn you CSU, you upset us. We'll get you next year." And that's usually it. And they usually do, and usually win a ring along the way. Not The Citadel. They'll lose to you...and then talk shit to you about how you don't belong on the field with them, the very field you just beat them on.

And The Citadel fans will talk a lot of trash to us. Because they wont talk much trash to programs who ARE at the level Citadel fans THINK their Dogs should be at (Like Coastal or Wofford). They'll only talk trash to teams that they think are far below them....and then lose to them...and make excuses.

Bring it on Dogs. Come on up to the stadium and field you never should have to go to. Play a team that is lucky to be on your schedule, as you say. And you better hope you play like the team you always THINK you are....and not like the team you so often end up being. Because you all are just too big, too huge of a stadium, too much tradition....to be in a dogfight with little ole sorry CSU and their high school field... for city bragging rights.

Besides, we're little ole sorry CSU with a high school field, and we should bow down to the Football God's and thank them for The Citadel even bothering to use up the ink it took to write us down on their schedule, which I'm sure was etched on 24 kt gold and is washed with dolphin tears before being made official.

We have nothing to lose by talking smack to a far bigger, wealthier, more established football program. And THEY are the ones who started the trash talk....for some reason, seeing as we are such an irrelevant program to them, WHY would they bother even acknowledging us, they should be talking trash to Wofford and Coastal and Samford, programs who ARE at the level where Dog fans think the Dogs are at.

Anyway...its football time. Lets do this.....LEEEEROY...JEEEEENKINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe. Maybe not. But The Citadel will still be falling far short of the level of program they THINK they are, and talking trash to teams that beat them and saying they are lucky to be on the schedule

CSU folks aren't delusional. We know who we are. We're a second tier Big South team. We HOPE we can play good enough to upset Liberty or Coastal, and it would be an upset. We don't talk trash to them and act like we SHOULD be the talk of the BSC. We aren't. We know our facilities suck, and our budget is small. That we shouldn't be beating teams like The Citadel, who on paper appears to have so much more. But....we do

Citadel could take some notes about knowing your place in the pecking order haha!

Nope, we sure wont. Facilities are the #1 tool for recruiting great O linemen, since they don't get much glory otherwise, and that's always been CSU's Achilles heel. If we had the funding and facilities of, say, The Citadel, we would be right up there with Coastal and Liberty as Big South contenders. We are on the bubble anyway...missed the ring and playoff berth by 1 win last year. But until we get facilities, we'll be second tier.

CSU will always be the Baptist College of Charleston to me.

Their ho's were so unappealing that I used to make poontang runs all the way to Converse College when I got tired of Ashley Hall and CofC bitches.

I didn't actually bang her, but she stalked me for a couple of months. Every time I went into Charleston, she was there. Every time I left or returned to the barracks, from Friday afternoon until Sunday night, she was at the sally port.
