Jacksonville State at Chattanooga - As much as I would like to pick Chatty, I still think that JSU has a hell of a team this year (probably top ten).
The Citadel at
Florida State
Furman at Mercer I have been concerned the the right confluence of odd events might make it tough for Furman in Macon. FU overlooking them, first Mercer SoCon game, Mercer improving from last year, Bobby Lamb revenge factor and then all of a sudden, our QB is out for the year. But, I would have thought Mercer might have made a better showing against a D3 team last week ( at least I think they are D3) and our defense looked pretty stout. I could be wrong and I don't think it will be a blow out with a back up quarter back (Fowler will play it safe), but I ain't too worried.
VMI at
Bowling Green
Brevard at
Western Carolina WCU 2-0

OK I realize I got a little ahead of myself on the 2-0 but I was impressed

It should still be a blowout, even with a back up quarterback. IMO, you are giving Mercer and Lamb way to much credit at this point.
After all, they beat a 2d year, NAIA team by only 3 points - they could have easily lost that one. If it's not a very wide margin of victory for the Paladins, Furman's gonna have problems this season.

You need to look at their strength of schedule from last year, it was near the bottom of all teams in FCS

I think it depends on the definition of a blow out. It could easily be 3 or 4 touchdowns basically playing a conservative offense. I don't think it will be 40 or 50 points simply because I don't think Fowler will try to bang them over the head. But I could be pleasantly surprised.

I watched that Mercer game. They have a lot of FBS transfers but I wasn't impressed. They seem disorganized as all hell.

Chatty. For all of the other picks I'm going with the obvious choices.

Im sure some Citadel fans will be on here soon saying how FSU is lucky that The Citadel allowed the Noles onto their schedule, and after they game they say how they really SHOULD have beat Florida State...if not for the fumbles, interceptions, sacks, TD runs, TD passes, TD catches, missed tackles and kick returns.

They'll say if not for those few mistakes, they'd have beaten FSU.

42 for Bowling Green? That's a bit much, considering the offensive output we showed on Saturday, and add the fact that the BG defense got absolutely crushed against Western KY (59 PA)....I'd say somewhere in the 42-14 range...

Probably right, but BG was picked to contend with Northern Illinois for the MAC title and think they will be better at home after their poor game last week.

This should be a good scrimmage game for the new Furman quarterbacks.

After the beatdown Appy took last week, do you think they can hold up against Campbell?
trap game?
Obviously, you guys have to come back here and try to live off your former glory days in FCS, as the FBS boys on BBS will eat you guys for lunch.
My oh my, how the mighty have fallen.
