What are some shockers on this list? How about the most underrated/overrated?

I don't know if it's a shocker but I like that voters were willing to depart from the tradition of voting the defending champion #1 regardless of the circumstances. North Dakota State lost its head coach and the nucleus of players that brought it those three straight titles and it looks like some voters took that into account.

:tothehand:
I'm saying that the athletic budgets of these two programs are too big to have this many down years in a row. I understand that the former coaches are somewhat to blame, but I would still expect something in the 15-25 range for this season.

Preseason polls are comprised of lazy voters who base 90% of their input on the final rankings of the previous season: hence the rankings of JMU and UD.

Do you really think Towson is going to finish 13th after losing its all-time player at RB and most of its OL?

Yeah, I know it is a pre-season poll. I am just saying that if JMU and UD don't finish in the T25, it would be a  .

The UD football program is under a President and BOT who want to deemphasize the program and become Patriot/Ivy-like. I don't believe JMU has an excuse though. They actually just built a new stadium. Well, half a stadium, but still.

It's comical that you would think the one thing we'd be surprised about is your lack of Sac State in the poll. You have Lehigh at 15. I think the large bulk of FCS fans would find that quite egregious. Even the Lehigh fans. :ohno:

I think SIU might catch some people napping. They were 2-2 against this Top 16 including road wins against #9 and #10 and they return 18 starters.

I've already gone on record on SacBuzz...

Sac State 10-2...with the snub.

Losses to UM and MSU. Snubbed due to scheduling (UIW, Menlo) despite late FG win over 1-11 Cal....

UIW is a counter, 9 wins (8 D1) will probably be enough to get an at large berth.

I don't see how a 10-2 Sac State would get snubbed. There's just no way.

Their chances of getting to 10-2, on the other hand… :?

It's SH logic...no rhyme or reason to it...
