At last count, there were 10 FCS participants in the upcoming Senior Bowl.

South Roster

Jimmy Garoppolo - Eastern Illinois
Lorenzo Taliaferro - Coastal Carolina
Jerick McKinnon - Georgia Southern
Billy Turner - North Dakota State
Caraun Reid - Princeton
Jordan Tripp - Montana
Walt Aikens - Liberty
Lavelle Westbrooks - Georgia Southern

North Roster

Kadeem Edwards - Tennessee State
Tyler Ott - Harvard

...and being a CCU guy, have to note that Lorenzo Taliaferro got a shout out from Michael DiRocco from ESPN in his observations column: ( http://espn.go.com/blog/jacksonville-ja ... servations )

" 8. Another small-school player that caught my eye was running back Lorenzo Taliaferro (Coastal Carolina), mainly because he's the biggest running back participating this week (6-0, 231 pounds). He had a couple nice runs during the short 11-on-11 period. He ran for 1,742 yards and 27 touchdowns and averaged 6.3 yards per carry last season. He has lost only 20 yards in 356 career carries. "

I think they need to change the paradigm and quit calling it "North" and "South."

Agreed.....the separation of rosters makes no logistical sense.

Turner grabbing attention

Fox Sports Link
Billy Turner, OT, North Dakota State

The offensive line drills are always fun to watch. I’m always impressed at how well those big fellas do cone drills, showing off their agility and athleticism.

Nevada’s Joel Bitonio was quite impressive in every drill, particularly during one in which the players had to rapidly shuffle to a specific cone pointed out by a coach while trying to stay low and keep the bar parallel to the ground. Oklahoma’s Gabe Ikard, Florida State’s Bryan Stork and the towering Morgan Moses from Virginia also impressed.

But it was Turner, the FCS player, who was grabbing a lot of attention. He has good size at 6-5 and 310 pounds, and a long-time NFL offensive line coach with whom I was talking said, “He has quick feet and good knee bend -- all the way to 90 degrees -- and he’s able to keep his chest upright while bending.”

That coach said Turner, who helped the Bison win three straight FCS championships, was the one lineman in the group who had impressed him the most on the first day of drills.

Mel Kiper Jr. on ESPN radio listed Jordan Tripp as one of the top linebacker prospects in the draft.
