losing 4 of 5 ol doesn't bode well for any run game....with or without west...much less so without himandy7171 wrote:Good luck to him. It's been a hell of a three year ride! Well, someone did point on the JMU board that their game notes vs EIU showed 13 senior starters. Add on West makes 14 lost, I believe 8 on offense and 6 on defense.93henfan wrote:Bullshit! Bison have around 10 solid experienced players coming back on offense, QB replacement will be key, TE and 1 O-line piece to fill. 11 solid experienced players coming back on defense. D-Line spot to fill. Kicker and punter return.BDKJMU wrote:Well, someone did point on the JMU board that their game notes vs EIU showed 13 senior starters. Ironically, someone pointed out on another thread that NDSU had 14 senior starters in the NC game.
You sound like App State posters in January 2008.Gil Dobie wrote:Bison have around 10 solid experienced players coming back on offense, QB replacement will be key, TE and 1 O-line piece to fill. 11 solid experienced players coming back on defense. Well if we're counting "experienced" players, then the Griz aren't losing anybody.Gil Dobie wrote:Bison have around 10 solid experienced players coming back on offense, QB replacement will be key, TE and 1 O-line piece to fill. 11 solid experienced players coming back on defense. I said solid experienced players, a lot of players got to start this season with all the injuries. I'm not counting players that got playing time mopping up in the 4th quarter.AZGrizFan wrote:Well if we're counting "experienced" players, then the Griz aren't losing anybody.Gil Dobie wrote:

Vaadeland is returning at TE (medical hardship). Two O-lineman graduate (Turner and Gimmestad).Gil Dobie wrote:Bison have around 10 solid experienced players coming back on offense, QB replacement will be key, TE and 1 O-line piece to fill. 11 solid experienced players coming back on defense. True story...the difference for us was that we had Armanti Edwards returning. That justifies a small amount of the hubris from those days.93henfan wrote:You sound like App State posters in January 2008.Gil Dobie wrote:

OK. Griz return their top 2 WR's, and 7 of their top 9 WR's (from a production standpoint). We return every QB on the roster. Every running back. Our stud fullback....the top 6 rushers all return. Our top 4 point scorers all return...O-line wise we lose a guy that's probably going to get drafted in April, but return four guys who either started or got "quality" minutes (not just mop-up) plus 3 more who saw significant playing time. Offensively I think we'll be fine. Defensively we lose all three LB's, our starting DT and our best CB...but we return 3 guys who got massive playing time at DT, 3 CB's who saw lots of playing time and 3 FR(RS) who are absolute studs, and a fast (albeit relatively young and inexperienced from a playing-time standpoint) set of 6-7 LB's who will be able to rotate in and out fairly successfully.Gil Dobie wrote:I said solid experienced players, a lot of players got to start this season with all the injuries. So the App State posters were not sure if their team would be good? A lot depends on the QB position and with the new Coach. You could have 21 out of 22 starters returning, but if the QB is not a game manager and the Coach doesn't lead, none of that matters.93henfan wrote:You sound like App State posters in January 2008.Gil Dobie wrote:

So stating facts is hubris?ASUMountaineer wrote:True story...the difference for us was that we had Armanti Edwards returning. That justifies a small amount of the hubris from those days.93henfan wrote:

Unless West was going to rush for 4,000+ yards, AP really didn't have anything to worry about.Mvemjsunpx wrote:Adrian Peterson can pop the champagne now…

Nope. Just Baldlie being Baldlie.andy7171 wrote:He's got 4,849 now. Did I miss something?Baldy wrote: Unless West was going to rush for 4,000+ yards, AP really didn't have anything to worry about.
AP rushed for over 9,000 yards. 4000+ yards more than West.andy7171 wrote:He's got 4,849 now. Did I miss something?Baldy wrote: Unless West was going to rush for 4,000+ yards, AP really didn't have anything to worry about.
