Seriously? That would be a lateral move at best. And based on recent history and current position of both programs, one could argue it wouldn't even be a lateral move.

Don't kid yourself.

Does Chadwell run a triple option? There's your answer.

When you start losing out on recruits who have Citadel Bulldog blood in their veins, nothing else needs to be said. This kid's bloodlines run deep at The Citadel. Where is he choosing to go? Charleston Southern.

Bobby Ruff Forges His Own Path
This season, the 6-3, 190-pound Ruff learned how to channel that anger to make the most of his ability. He made the North-South All-Star team as a linebacker, and scored a touchdown for West Ashley on a fake punt. Arriving late on the radar of college recruiters, Bobby found himself with scholarship offers from The Citadel, Coastal Carolina and Charleston Southern. His choice surprised almost everyone.
Brian Ruff Sr. is sitting at a corner table in a West Ashley restaurant when an old friend walks up.

“How’s Bobby?” the friend wants to know. “Will he be at The Citadel next fall?”

“No, Charleston Southern,” Brian says.

The friend looks shocked. “What, are you crazy?” he asks.

Brian Ruff, now 59, has gotten that reaction more than once in the weeks since Bobby committed to CSU. After all, Brian Ruff was maybe The Citadel’s best player ever — a dominant linebacker who was two-time Southern Conference player of the year. He made The Associated Press’ first-team All-America squad at a time when The Citadel played in Division I just like Clemson and South Carolina; there was no FBS or FCS.
Bobby just assumed he’d go to The Citadel — until one day last summer, when friends and West Ashley teammates Lee Russell and Anthony LaCosta persuaded him to go to a Charleston Southern camp.
There, Bobby impressed new CSU coach Jamey Chadwell and his assistants with his workout.

They impressed him with an emphasis on a family atmosphere. “I told them, I grew up in a Citadel family and thought I was going to The Citadel,” Bobby said. “But that’s when I realized that I didn’t want to go to The Citadel. I wanted to do my own thing. The coaches there, they acted like it was a family, and I wanted to be a part of it.”

Happens ALL the time, dude. The Citadel is definitely not for everyone. Fortunately, we actually have to play the games so we'll see just how ascendant CSU is (or how descendant El Cid is) this fall.

BTW if he is half the player his dad was he will be good.
