An astounding 7 different CAA teams have made the semis in the last 6 seasons going back to 08':
JMU 08'
UR 08'
VU 09' & 10'
W&M 09'
UD 10'
TU 13'
UNH 13'

Almost as astounding 1 of these 2 teams (ok, lets be realistic, TU) could become the 6th different CAA to to make the NC game in the last 10 seasons since 04'.
JMU 04'
UMass 06'
UD 07' & 10'
UR 08'
VU 09'
TU 13'?????

No other league has come close to that diversity....

None of that means anything unless you win the NC. It literally means nothing. It's actually worse for the CAA that they don't have MORE TITLES. Every year u have a team in the semis and have nothing to show for it since '09??? how I see it, the CAA sucks. (See how annoying that is? So stop it right now) :coffee:

Oh BS. Last 10 seasons 4 titles:
03' UD
04' JMU
08' UR
09' VU
That's more than any other conference. So-Con has 3, MVFC has 2, and Big Sky has 1.

Do they not teach reading comprehension at EWU? You claim "very year u have a team in the semis" yet CAA didn't have a team in in 11' and 12'. So since 09' have had only 1 team make semis and fail to win NC- UD in 10'.

We'll just see what you think after EWU takes care of business next week and then beats NDSU for the title....

Would be an upset with what we have seen in these playoffs so far. I respect EWU but there is no doubt they play in a weaker conference every year. Subsequently they have better records and higher seeds and home playoff games. Towson is very talented. Many of us CAA fans had them pegged for a showdown with NDSU half way thru the season. I think your cheek color will match the red turf after the game.

Do they not teach history/stats at JMU? Nova didn't win the NC in ''10 either. :dunce:

Another EWU fan who can't read. I never said VU won the NC in 09'. Go re read my 1st 2 posts. In my 1st post I said "VU 09'". Said the same in my 2nd post. And 3rd.

Dipshit...either re-read your post...the one still in the quote, or go back and write it over again so it's intelligible. :dunce:

Well said bdkjmu. Your thread is "CAA is back". What part don't they get?

Not sure it ever left but this is a good thread and it needs to be highlighted. The selection process is awful in the fcs. SOS isn't even considered. Somehow every other tourney can figure it out but fcs football.

Pretty sure SOS is considered. They just probably notice all the NEC, PFL, and MEAC teams the CAA plays OOC.

I don't think it was ever gone. I think it's been one of the top 2 leagues throughout that period and #1 through most of it. I think it's had teams good enough to compete for the national title every year. Just sometimes the bounces don't go right and nobody gets as far as the semifinals.

I was thinking last night as I was watching New Hampshire play Southeastern Louisiana that I don't know if Sam Houston State would ever have been in a national championship game if the Bearkats had drawn CAA teams during the playoffs. I don't think they ever had to play anybody as good as that New Hampshire team is right now until they got to the championship game.

Said the Maine fan who's team averages 2,000 in attendance less than EWU.

We had 6100 (75% of capacity) last week when it was zero. The stands were at least as full if not more so yesterday. Mis-reported number.

Those were indeed nice road wins. But I think we would have faired well, given our success at OSU and UM.

Dude, please. Our regular season average was around 10k...what was Maine's? Our playoff games are never as well attended as the regular season due to school not being in session.

We knocked off the #1 seed (Southern Illinois) in 2004, and the #2 seed (McNeese State) in 2007, and came close to knocking out App State that same year at their place. As a program, we're familiar with winning on the road in the playoffs.

Besides, you could make this same argument for any team in the history of the playoffs with home field advantage.

Maybe, but those are little bus rides. Games at Toledo and Sam Houston... not so much. 8-)

Who doesn't beat SIU and McNeese at their place? That would be a much shorter list.
