I was surprised myself after our loss to NAU yesterday... when I first saw the news... my wonderful and now not-as-innocent children heard their father yell out "HOLY SH*T WE'RE IN!"EWURanger wrote:I was surprised SUU got in, but I guess the win over MSU was what tipped the scales in their favor.

It's a joke.BDKJMU wrote:I don't have a dog in this hunt, but how does Montana would get a seed over NAU? Had to figure NAU (7-1 Big Sky)> Montana (6-2 Big Sky), since NAU had the better conference record and handled Montana head to head 34-16.
While they obviously didn't follow it entirely the NCAA SRS may have been a factor in that particular decision. Montana is at #8 in the NCAA SRS ratings and Northern Arizona is at #11.BDKJMU wrote:I don't have a dog in this hunt, but how does Montana would get a seed over NAU? And don't you forget it!93henfan wrote:Montana is an FCS darling. That's why.

They've been free falling. Surprisingly they played their starting QB yesterday. I thought sure he was done for the year. But him running the option is a big part of their offense and I don't think he can take getting hit now. I'd heard he has a broken clavicle but surely not if they were playing him yesterday.SUUTbird wrote:Stoked we got in! Beating Montana State, and FBS school and a tough game against NAU is probably what got us in. However we have a very tough task of taking on SHSU, going to have to ride our defense like we have all season.
Feel free to bandwagon us since your Hens will be watching from home, again.93henfan wrote:Montana is an FCS darling. That's why.
We're also a better team.MrTitleist wrote:Montana's SRS was higher than NAU.. seemed like that was a big part of the selection process.

Maybe have some class for a change?Grizalltheway wrote:Feel free to bandwagon us since your Hens will be watching from home, again.93henfan wrote:Montana is an FCS darling. That's why.
You started it, bub. Montana earned their seed and will prove it on the field.93henfan wrote:Maybe have some class for a change?Grizalltheway wrote:

I thought FU got the autobid.bucs90 wrote:The SoCon went something like 2-7 head to head with the Big South this year. And CO-SoCon champ Furman, with a 7-5 record, went 1-2 head to head with the Big South- losing to 1st place Coastal, 4th place Garnder Webb, and needing a late 1 point win to beat 5th place Presbyterian.
7-5 Furman would've finished no better than 4th in the Big South, and yet, they get in over co-Big South Champ Liberty, who had an 8-4 record with losses to Kent State, Coastal and Richmond.
WHy? Furman and the SoCon are name brand. That's it.
