I've never heard of this in college football, but down 80-20 after 3 the coaches of both teams decided to make the 4th quarter only 10 vs 15 minutes.

Way to go ODU. Embarrassment of the new century.

Ya just gotta laugh it off. Life is too short and football's just a game.

Overall, this was a fun season.

Bad weekend for the Hampton Roads region, with ODU, Nawfuk State, W&M and Hampton all losing.

What a joke, how the hell are they going to compete at the next level?

They won't. Moving up is an absolute joke for 90% of FCS teams.

I think you overestimate the number.

The worst I jave ever seen. Ok State beat Savannah State 84-0, but it was 70-0 after 3, and I don't believe they shortened the 4th qtr. This new "mercy rule" might become forever known in college football as the "Old Dominion rule".

This game was a complete mess. Yes, the Old Dominion coach suggested that the 4th quarter be shortened to 10 minutes with the score already 80-20. I saw the UNC coach say that he was happy to see that because their team still has 2 football games to play this season and you never know when an injury will take place. In addition, UNC took a knee on 4th and goal in the 4th quarter.

This was a woodshed moment.    :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

I'm pretty sure the program is not stuck with the same players for the next 20 years. :-P :kisswink:

God forbid two teams don't want to subject their teams to unnecessary risk. I wish more coaches had the balls to do this.

Football is an unnecessary risk.

Every play of every game in history, and going forward, is an unnecessary risk

Better if we had just cried but continued to take our medicine. From the old joke, "That's one" Bobby Wilder.

This was a mistake from which there is no escape or correction.

But maybe each person involved can use that 5 minutes in their own unique way. I think I'll save mine for the day the Grim Reaper comes for me. Or maybe if we find ourselves ahead of Butler nearing the end of a hoops game. :yikes:

This is great. A team with wins this year of 76-19, 66-14, and 66-10 (in which they ran in a TD with 26 seconds left) starts crying in front of 41500 fans. Good for 'em.

I especially like the ball-control; the drive chart shows UNC with a three-play drive for three yards with time of possession of 7:29

ODU has been the master of the cupcake schedule and beating up on the Little Sisters of the Poor. It's been smart, actually, for a startup. Far smarter than the way Georgia State went about things. Charlotte tried to follow this model, but they apparently didn't get the memo that Wesley is a perennial Top 5 D3 team.
