That'd be nice but the facilities suck. CSU would have to invest on temporary bleachers and port a johns for the visitor side. Today was packed and you could easily have doubled the size of the visitor stand and filled every seat.

Yep thats my worry. If they win out they would deserve it but may not get it. We've hosted Wofford, SC state, Samford, and a couple others that filled it. Coastal always does. We need new seating bad.

That said...if CSU and CCU win out they both deserve to be in. With the SoCon so down....I think its possible.

I must admit that, though I didn't write anything, I didn't think that was going to happen. Looking at stuff like Charleston Southern beating teams like Shorter and Presbyterian by only 8 and 11, I thought Coastal Carolina was going to blow the Buccaneers out. You just never know.

Now Charleston Southern goes to the playoffs unless they have a total collapse and Coastal Carolina could end with a 10-2 record and not making the playoffs. If they're 11-1 that'd mean they'd have beaten South Carolina so I'm pretty sure they'd be in. But at 10-2 and being from the Big South, fair or not, they might not make it.

That is certainly possible but I suspect ... IF they both win out (except of course So Carolina) they're both in the playoffs. Getting one of the seeds is another matter altogether.

Don't you have to bid to get a home playoff game?

The top eight teams are "seeded" and each is guaranteed a home game in the second round.
The other 16 teams will offer bids to be the home team for the first round games.

Yeah, this is basically right. I believe seeds have to put up a minimum, "token" bid, but they'll get the home game as long as they do (this issue came up for Colgate in 2003).

So, for any chance at a home game, CSU would need to make the top 8? That could be tough. And I doubt we could out-bid anyone. But who knows...if we can be 12-1 with the lone loss to Colorado, maybe we'll end up top 8.

I know it's unlikely but if they beat Southl Carolina all of a sudden they'll be very highly regarded by the selection committee.

One thing I found rather perplexing is that ESPN decided to carry 2 Big South Games, Liberty vs Presby and GW vs VMI but not the CCU vs CSU game. What kind of bone headed programming guy makes that decision.

It would, but CSU doesn't play them, Coastal does. But, if Coastal somehow were to beat them, and finish 11-1 with a win over an SEC power, that would guarantee a bid.
