Abilene Christian leads NMSU 22-21 in the third. I believe ACU, being a first-year transitional, technically counts as a DII opponent for NMSU this year…

BTW, this game had a great ending. With 79 yards to go on the final play, Abiline Christian got 73 yards after a hail mary to NMSU's forty-five, after which the ball was lateraled to an open ACU receiver. The NMSU linebacker made a great chase and diving tackle at the 6 yard line to save the game.
