Few believed CSU could put together the type of complete effort needed to beat tradition-rich Appalachian State. Chadwell and his team insisted they could, and they delivered.
In arguably the biggest win in the program’s 23-year history, Charleston Southern defeated Appalachian State, 27-24, stunning a crowd of 29,145 at The Rock.

The victory was no fluke. CSU moved the ball at will against an Appalachian State team primed to move up to the FBS ranks and the Sun Belt Conference in 2014.
