Why in hell are you guys traveling to NC Central?
Did you at least get a home and home?
If you're trying to carry the flag for CAA you can't go nickel whoring yourselves out like that. Bad, bad style.

I think they are coming to Towson twice in the next couple years. Other that that, its for recruiting in North Carolina. We've gotten several players from there in the last few years.

So you played DelState to recruit in Delaware? Even Delaware doesn't recruit in Delaware.
I'm not even sure if we're up to 40 high schools with football yet. It was about 30 when I was in school.

We ended the Morgan State series because it was stale and boring as fuck.
Ivy League and Patriot League teams almost play each other exclusively. Who else are is NE school to schedule?
Pioneer patsies or Wagner?

We have a smaller population than DE and still get a good chunk of our recruits in-state, as does MSU. Maybe you're just a bunch of lacrosse-playing pussies?

Actually, most of our talent goes to FBS. PSU, UMD, Va Tech, Rutgers, Pitt, etc.

Same here. With USC, Clemson, UGA and Georgia Tech so close, those schools get many athletes.

Trust me, I'm not by any means advocating that Delaware is some kind of football powerhouse, but I think we do OK per capita. Probably on par (again per capita) with any other place except FL, CA, TX. The hotbeds.
Plus you have to think about all the FCS, D-II, and D-III schools within a 3 hr drive of DE. It's dozens, if not 100+ college football teams.

Surprised to hear TU would recruit NC. Lot of competition in NC. Soon to be 7 IA:
-UNC
-NC State
-Wake
-Duke
-ECU
-App State
-UNC Charlotte
5 full scholly IAA:
-Elon
-WCU
-G Webb
-NC A&T
-NCCU
NC schools give far more schollies every year than Div I talent that the state produces.
Compare that to PA, which has about 1/3rd more population:
3 IA:
-PSU,
-Pitt
-Temple
Only 1 full scholly IAA: Villanova
Have 3 Patriot which just started going scholly and 2 40 scholly NEC.
NJ only Rutgers and no full scholly IAA, only Monmouth.
NY only 2 IA in Cuse and Buffalo (not counting Army) and 2 full scholly IAA in SBU and Fordham. Handful of NEC, Patriot and Ivy.
Even MD only Have UMD, TU, and Morgan St. (Not counting Navy).
JMU's current roster out of state players:
MD: 10
PA: 5
NY: 4
NJ: 3
CA: 2
DE: 1
WV: 1
DC: 1
Even though VA borders NC, like I said, there is simply too much competition. Currently 0 players on roster from NC (usually us 1-2, usually due to some connection to JMU)..

Make no mistake, we are heavy on Maryland players with 46 on the roster. Ambrose made that his priority.
As far as out-of-staters goes...
New Jersey - 10
Virginia - 10
Pennsylvania - 5
Florida - 4
North Carolina - 3
Texas - 2
Connecticut - 1
New York - 1
Ohio - 1
South Carolina - 1

This got me thinking: How many Montanans does U of Hawaii have? Answer: none, but they do have a native Hawaiian who transferred
from UM.

49 out of state...I realize you have to go out of state to recruit speed, but about 60% out of state is a lot for the public flagship...

44 out of state is a lot for a VA public. Around 1/2 the roster? I count 97 on JMU's roster, and 27 out of state. I imagine the other 6 Div 1 publics (VT, UVA, ODU, VMI, Hampton, Norfolk State) are similar ballpark, 2/3 to 3/4 in state...
Of the 2 VA div I privates, did a quick count of Liberty's roster and counted about 70 out of state and 30 in state. But most of those out of state were from Bible Belt states...
Didn't bother to count UR because the roster on their website have to click on each player to see where they are from.

Yeah, well, when you only have a million people, and 97% of them are white, it doesn't leave you much choice if you want to compete on a national level.

A fair point. Yes, W&M does tend to lean more heavily on out-of-state and always has. Just for comparison, UVA, an FBS with comparable academics to W&M, has 47 of 109 out of state (43%).
