Kudos to St Francis. They played very well. Looked like a much better team than their conference mate CCSU and the StFU team that JMU best 55-7 last yr. they clearly showed up to play. JMU didn't. Probably assumed would be a cakewalk like last yr.
JMU out gained StFU 398-253 but:
-turned the ball over 4x to 0 for StFU.
-costly penalties. TD called back and a about 30 yd run negated by a hold.
Birdsong was bad. 10 of 23, 0 TD, 3 INT. In all fairness to him he dislocated his shoulder last week vs Akron, has his foot in all week, did not practice all week, and JMU was missing their top 2 receivers who got injured against Akron.
Good news is Dae'quan Scott had 190 yds rushing. Bad news is it came on 32 carries. JMU's rFr #2 tailback fumbled for the 4th time in 3 games

. He is probably done for the season as far as any more pt other than garbage time. The 3rd TB dislocated possibly his kneecap and is probably going to be out till sometime in Oct. getting thin at TB..

Best worst Albany game I've ever seen.
Stadium was packed. They won't announce actual attendance behond a sell-out f the official capacity for some reason, but they estimated 11,000. Stadium seats 8500.
They turned a significant amount of people away too.
Horrendous game though. Bad all the way around on the field.

And JMU took out all QB running plays due to Birdsong being banged up. I'm sure that will be the case against UNCC also. Did I mention JMU's backup QB is a walkon true Fr?

Since 2010 JMU by my count has signed 5 scholly QBs that have changed positions (4 still currently on team) and another 3 leave the program (all of whom would be rJr's if had stayed). Also had a verbal renege 2 weeks before signing date and sign with W&M.
If Birdsong or Scott go down for for a month or more will be season over for JMU.

? is, who wins the sucks worse award in the CAA this week?
-Albany, for allowing URI to not only break URI's 15 game losing streak, but also doing it at home, on their new stadium opener no less. Albany coming from the NEC, which allowed 38 schollies last season, 40 this season) and URI was set to join the NEC before they revered course earlier in the year. I imagine both teams are at around 50 schollies...
-UR, for losing @ Gardner Webb. A GW team that finished 3-8 last season and lost 55-0 @ Marshall the week before. Granted they did upset Furman in their opener..
-JMU, for barely beating StFU, a 34 scholly team (NEC now reportedly allows 40 schollies but StFU coach was quoted last week in the Harrisonburg paper as saying the school only allowed 34) team that lost the week before @ GSU 59-17. Granted StFU was improved last season at 5-6..
-UD, for getting embarrassed at Navy 51-7, giving up close to 600 yds of offense. Granted, this could be one of Navy's best teams ever, and they could easily win 9-10 games...

You can cut the Spiders an itsy-bitsy little bit of slack. The game was in Boiling Springs, NC.

My bad. Fixed it. Not like UR has much of a homefield advantage in their breadbox.

Albany...hands down.
We have about 38 rides on the field. 54 in total with most redshirting.
Atmosphere got the most of them I think. Didn't look good at all and we had offensive communication issues to boot. Too many turnovers as well. Bad bad day.

I don't think anyone expects a Big Sky guy to do a good job picking the CAA.
And EVERYONE missed Albany and UR.....

Yeah, you guys probably win the sucks worse this week, but UR was the biggest surprise. After on, on 9/14:
NC State 23, UR 21
Marshall 55, GWebb 0
