McGhee never should have been involved in that last play of the game...multiple laterals
But he's a competitor.

Good luck to him...hope it isn't serious

That sucks, hopefully it's just a temp thing and he's back on the field soon. Injuries always suck, we lost our big starting RT yesterday along with one of our up and commer young WR's. Not sure how long either will be out.

I had to laugh at some of the Griz fans on egriz questioning why Rob Ash would be "trying to win the game on the last play, risking his QB in the process".

Uh. Hello? Should he have just had Denarius take a fucking knee and been happy with a 1-point loss? Seriously, that egriz comment might be the most retarded thing I've read on there in a LONG time...

This is what should have happened
We played with no QB last year and that worked out great...for the other teams

"DeNarius McGhee’s string of 40 consecutive starts as Montana State’s quarterback will end Saturday. The senior from Euless, Tex., suffered a separated shoulder in Saturday’s game at SMU and is expected to return sometime in October. Sophomore Jake Bleskin from Great Falls is listed as the starting quarterback for this week’s game with Colorado Mesa."

On the bright side, you'll enter next year with a QB who's actually seen significant action

On the brighter side, we'll finally get to test 2506's theory that Bleskin is actually better than McGhee. :coffee:

And where have I said that, I have said that we will be fine and we wont have a huge drop off when McGhee Graduates, and I will stick to that.

On the bright side it could be worse, we could have Smithwick-Haan or McKinney backing DM up rather than Bleskin and Prukop. :thumb:

Whatever you need to tell yourself, but it'll be back to mediocrity and irrelevancy when McGhee is gone. :thumb:

Yeah.... you also blathered on about those two being better than JJ. You're about as unbiased as Bear Axed when it comes to these things

That doesn't explain why he just ran out of bounds instead of lateraling the ball, though.

No....but to argue that a coach shouldn't have been trying to win a game with his best players is just stupid. Obviously in hindsight I'm sure Ash (and McGhee) would like a do-over, but it doesn't change the fact that they're competitors and they were trying to win a game in which they led for 59:46 out of 60:00.

lastest news says 3,4,5,6, or 7 weeks... I take this as his return is questionable this season.

That really sucks.

Medical redshirt? Could he get that rare "6th year"?

He only played in two games.

He'd for sure be eligible, I think.

Edit: Never mind. He wouldn't qualify.
You need two years of circumstances out of your control. And since he already used his redshirt, it's safe to say this will be his last season whether he comes back or not. :(
