Perhaps this has been answered, or I am just a retard as usual.

How can the finalists be nominated before the season even begins? Shouldn't they be put out after the 4th or 5th game?

Same reason we rank the teams going into the season, everyone thinks they can predict the future.

They release a watch list before the season, not the finalists.

That is what I just figured out. I read an article online and the title said FINALISTS, not watch list. After I did a little bit more of looking I realized that I am a doofus.
