ASU finally gets new uniforms

I'm kinda liking the matte black helmets. Otherwise they look similar to the uni's we had in 2004.
BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University football unveiled new Nike game uniforms during a team meeting at the Appalachian Athletics Center on Thursday afternoon.
Appalachian State's new uniforms feature five combinations - black jerseys/black pants, white jerseys/white pants, black jerseys/white pants, white jerseys/black pants and an alternate grey jersey with black pants.
The grey alternate jerseys, which will be auctioned to fans following the season, feature Appalachian State's popular vintage Yosef logo, which will adorn alternate uniforms across Appalachian's 20 varsity teams for one more year in 2013-14. The grey jerseys also include the football program's "Always Attack" motto on the back nameplate.
The four traditional black and white uniform combinations will be worn with a black helmet featuring Appalachian's Block A logo. The grey alternate jersey will be paired with a black helmet featuring the vintage Yosef logo.
The Mountaineers' new black helmets have a matte finish as opposed to the traditional glossy look and the Block A logo has a black background to complete the slick new design.
Appalachian State will don its new duds for the first time when it opens the 2013 campaign at Montana on Aug. 31. The Mountaineers open the home portion of their slate on Sept. 7 versus North Carolina A&T

Not a fan of the monochrome look OR the NYG dipped-in-plastic look, but the mixed color combos (black/white, white/black) look like they'd be appealing. I think that given the actual school colors, a yellow alternate would be more appropriate, though the gray should work.

Monochrome works great at home....we've done the yellow alternates in the past, some better than others. I kind of like the grey. I'll see the new whites at Wa Griz in August.

So, are you guys using the alts for HC or some other game? HC would be a great time for the alts.

It might just be me, but there is not enough yellow or gold whichever it is, A solid or sharp yellow (gold) stripe down the pant leg would help it, other than that, they look pretty sharp.

As we've seen with De'Anthony Thomas's decision to attend Oregon solely because he like their uniforms, kids dig the digs...great move by Appy...gonna miss you guys.
