C'mon Bison, fill that schedule

I don't quite understand why the Bison are taking so long filling their schedule. Granted, my Cats fuked them over royally. I may have to switch my allegiance to the Griz. But as I look at the '13 schedules I see:
Sept 7: NAU is open, with 2 open dates. So is Texas Southern and in fact Illinois St. Houston Baptist is almost always open.
Sept 14: 'Nova, Drake, San Diego, Bucknell or even the Saluki's are all open with 2 open dates.
Nov 2: Wofford, Lehigh, several teams from the SWAC and as always Houston Baptist.
Perhaps all of these teams would rather sit on their 2 open dates instead of playing the Bison. Perhaps NDSU is trying to woo a Big10 team to play them again. But I see no reason the Bison should be stuck with 3 open dates. I am dreadfully sorry my Cats peed down their leg again and refused to honor their commitment to play in Fargo. I'm afraid y'all will move up before we get a chance to play. Move to the B10 and we'll never see each other again.
A sad ending to a long history of Montana State playing NDSU.

I don't expect any Big Ten teams to call NDSU any time soon. Barry Alvarez basically put the kibosh on that for the duration of the College Football Playoff's existence (which doesn't even start until next year, but whatevs)

I would be extremely happy if Weber dropped thier game with Utah on the 7th and instead played NDSU

The school's pocket book wouldn't. By the same token, it would be interesting to see the difference in payout between our Toledo game and a NDSU game. Or perhaps home and home. Of course I assume there's a hefty buyout clause in the Toledo contract so nevermind.

All not well in Bisonville, who claim this only happens at Montana.

You can rule Houston Baptist out. They are only playing a 7 game season for year 1 of football.
What a Baptism (get it) that would be. Play the Bearkats and the Bison both in your first year of football.

because every skill player on offense is back for their senior year? I do understand your big sky inferiority complex though.

when will the Griz be relevant again?

Follow-up, Felony Assault charges dropped.

FARGO – Cass County prosecutors on Thursday dropped a felony assault charge against a star linebacker for the North Dakota State University football team, saying he may have acted in self-defense in a brawl last weekend that left a man unconscious.
In a news conference, Cass County State’s Attorney Birch Burdick said surveillance videos and other additional information helped inform the decision to drop the felony assault charge against Travis Beck.
“It’s pretty obvious he was trying to retreat, to get out of the situation, but sometimes you just can’t,” said Bruce Quick, Beck’s defense attorney. “We’re relieved charges were dismissed.”
Beck, 21, was arrested early Sunday morning, accused of punching out Matthew Aanenson, 24, in a parking lot just off NP Avenue in the 600 block. He was charged Monday in Cass County District Court with aggravated assault, a Class C felony.
