9!?
I think we can be that good or better, but I'd like to see some games before I'd put Montana above #20.

Where is Stony Brook?
Major oversight.

Homer...on offense we lose a ton at receiver and that's it. It's not as if we've had to rebuild offensively under Baldwin. On defense, we lose a little on D-line and have some depth issues at Lb but still have all BSC athletes at every level. Plus there's that whole making it out of the quarters thing....

Eastern lost a ton at receiver from a team with a young QB and a crappy running game. That's a huge deal.
Last year's EWU defense was also not that good, giving up over 400 ypg. Granted, most of the Big Sky gave up over 400 ypg, but still…
The WR corps was the one big thing Eastern's opponents were not able to deal with last season. That's gone. The Eagles will have to find a new edge or they're screwed. With the suicidal schedule, 2013 is looking like a repeat of 2011 for EWU.

Agreed we're ranked too high, but you guys have proven year in and year out you have no business being in the top 5.

No Portland State. Sounds about right.

In the last 9 years or so, when has EWU NOT had a great group of WRs? Granted this last years class was the deepest we've had, we always replace a standout AA with another. This year will be no different.
We didn't get to the semis and 4 points from the NC just because we had outstanding WRs. Adams is a stud, and our run game was significantly improved last year, and will be again this year since we return 4/5 OL, all of our RBs including Mario Brown who used his RS last year, and the addition of the read option to better suit Adams' skillset.
We'll be okay.

Nothing is as hysterical as watching MSUck collapse in the round of 16 or 8 every year.

Adams is young and will make some mistakes but he also threw for 6 TD's against a Sam D that had held Poly and the Cats to 16 Pts and had been stout all year. At WR, Ashton Clark was the #3 receiver in yards and TD's last season with speedsters Shaq Hill and Cory Mitchell seeing some time too.

We were a semi-finalist last season. Show me why Eastern shouldn't be in the top 10.

In case you hadn't noticed, Cat fans tend to drink away all their memories of the post season.

You guys say this stuff every year, and yet we keep bringing in great athletes to replace the ones who leave. 2011's record wasn't due to the schedule, it was a reflection of a team completely decimated by injuries.

Better yet, I'd like one compelling reason why MSU should be ranked at #2. That is a damn joke. MSU has proven absolutely nothing.

BS. MSU has consistently proved they are the first or second seed....
to exit the playoffs.

So Eastern
started 0-4 in 2011, but
finished 6-1 mostly due to injuries? That's a tough argument to make. It clearly wasn't just the injuries. It was the complete lack of a running game & a defense that lost their edge from the year before.
EWU keeps bringing in athletes, but they tend to make the playoffs closer to every other year—not quite every year. The Eags don't look to be as good on paper as they were last season, & I see at least 5 games on that schedule where they're the underdog, IMO (@ Oregon St., @ Toledo, @ Montana, vs. Montana St., @ Cal Poly). They'll have to win 2 of those 5—plus Sam Houston—to have a realistic shot at the playoffs.
