WCU sweeps Wofford, winning a DH today 3-0 and 10-7. 1st regular season title since Todd Raleigh's last season in the Whee, 2007.

Cats are now 36-17 overall, 21-6 in the SoCon. Another flag will go up as I believe this makes it #12 or #13 for WCU baseball winning the SoCon.

El Cid will finish #2 after of course being picked to finish in the bottom 4.

Last time that happened we went to Omaha.

BTW I think there won't be an at large from the SoCon this year. All the RPIs are just too low. Gotta win that tournament!

Actually not at all. WCU has historically had a great baseball program. In fact, this year's title is now regular season title #12 and we've won 9 socon tourney titles. WCU and The Citadel are tied at 21 conference titles in the SoCon, they have 13 reg season and 8 tourney so no having won the reg season for the 1st time since 07 didn't hurt my feelings at all to type. In fact, I told somebody once at a football gathering that baseball is WCU's franchise sport. I got much love from a baseball player standing nearby. HA!

Hopefully we can win one in football some day. GO CATS!

Bearkats clinched at least a share of the Southland conference title last night. Up 2 with 2 to play vs #2 UCA.

2nd year in a row for Bearkat baseball.

WCU beat App 23-5 last night in Boone with games 2 and 3 tonight and tomorrow. WCU wins both, they finish 39-17 and are already the #1 seed in the SoCon baseball tourney.

Would love to see them back in the NCAAs. Already projected as an at-large in the UNC bracket.

It was 14-2 at the end of the 6th and WCU scored NINE in the top of the 7th.

CATS take game 2 over ASU, 9-1. go cats!!!

There will be no at large bids from the SoCon this year. At large bids are weighted with RPI, and (not trying to take anything from WCU) but WCU didnt even have the highest RPI in the SoCon when they clinched the regular season title.

The tournament winner will go and that's it.

You're probably right though. Our 15-0 loss to UNC-Asheville was certainly a dark moment. Alas, App won 9-8 today so no sweep but I'll take 38-18 overall, 23-7 SoCon and the #1 seed. Good luck in the tourney! GO CATS!
