It would be nice for us to have more home games but the home schedule sucks for MSU.

WELP! Looks like EWU gets the most televised games even with the small stadium. WHATS GONNA HAPPEN AFTER A ROOS FIELD RENOVATION?

He doesn't. He's a f***ng imbecile.
"4, 4, 4. Let's see, the third one in that list is Eastern. 3 is bigger than 2 or 1. Eastern is KING. EVERYONE SUCK MY DICK."

ROOT has made a big mistake in underestimating the comedy ratings potential of broadcasting an Idaho State game.

I like it, three really good games with UM, MSU, and Cal Poly...and then the Dam Cup against PSU. All in all, not too shabby and a little more equitable than last year. Unless you're Sac, ISU, Southern UTAH, NoDak, etc.

One of our guys at SacBuzz complained about that. On the surface, that makes sense. But SD noticed that CP has Root games this year, whereas last year (when they were VERY competitive in league play) they did not. Root probably figured that since we're not within the station's footprint, it's our turn to sit out. We still get a piece of the pie, though, as SD mentioned. Sac may also get on some regional CBS Sports/Fox Sports/Pac-12 Network telecasts, so it's not as dreary as it may seem. The bad part is that I won't get to see ANY of them without a ticket since I STILL don't have cable....

How many games did UM MSU and EWU have last year? Now look at this years sched....UM lost its grip, EWU is on the rise. I know you hate to admit that Eastern is better than Montana state but they are! Beat you at home in 2012 (LIVE ON ROOT SPORTS BTW), gonna beat that one trick pony again in 2013 on the RED TURF!
Eastern wins at Montana St. *

One or two down years, EWU is going to fall to the wayside. EWU's recent success in my opinion has been a fluke.
The "stadium renovation" is a far-off dream, which likely will not happen in the next decade.. especially considering the school is not filling their small stadium now.
Cheney is a backwater, doesn't have the population needed to support a stadium of that size, and will be lucky to continue their current level of success, considering 1. the prestige of the school (which is not great). 2. the population base in the area (which is low).
Just being realistic- EWU has reached the apex of their existence, and it is downhill from here.

I have to strongly disagree. EWU is a top FCS program. I have been there twice and they also have some great fans. As far as fans to fill an expanded stadium they can pull fans from Spokane which is a great city.

I guess it's possible.. I just don't see the sparkling stadium happening anytime soon.. What is drawing good players to EWU? It must be their recent past success, it's not Cheney, it's not the education. Perhaps it's Colin Cowherd? I don't get it.

It's the cultural mecca known as Spokompton.

There's a lot you don't get or see, so I can't say that I'm surprised.
For the record, we've been at 98%+ capacity the last two years. While Cheney is small (just like Boone, NC), a quick Google search by someone who isn't mentally incompetent would realize that there are nearly 500,000 people in Spokane County.
Lastly, we may have been attracting top players only recently, but we've been producing top players for about a decade now. Two Buchanan winners, two Payton winners, a good handful of finalists, playoffs in six of the last nine years, a national championship, etc etc all contradict your naive assessment. Carry on.

The "podunk Cheney" smack is funny. It's a small college town and idealistic in so many ways - especially if you like the outdoors. But yes, it's tough to go clubbing or see the Opera if that's what you're into.

By the same token, my urbanite, emo'd out nephew from Seattle recently enrolled at Eastern and absolutely loves Cheney.

Let's just say I am glad the EWU game is in SLO this year. Roos is a very difficult place to win. Great home field advantage. Kalm also throws a great tailgate.

Three games on ROOT without Montana or Montana State. Has anyone informed Root Sports of this egregious mistake?
Sac State, Southern Utah and North Dakota all have gripes about getting no tv time.
I'm looking forward to seeing Cal Poly's stadium on tv.
